Average RPG Codex post: "Creating a pulp fantasy setting by filling a fictional world with thinly-veiled versions of historical nations has been an option ever since Robert E. Howard's Hyborian Age. See also the human provinces of The Elder Scrolls' Tamriel (High Rock = medieval Britain/France, Hammerfell = medieval North Africa, Skyrim = Vikingland, and Cyrodiil = Romans), D&D's Known World / Mystara setting (Roman/Byzantine Empire, Vikingland, Arabia, Mongols, Slavs, English merchantland, etc.), Age of Decadence (a hybrid Roman/Arabian setting, threatened by Mongols), and many more. Readers/Players are easily able to fill in the gaps of the setting using their historical knowledge (or the representation of the nations in popular culture), and the writer is easily able to establish a sense of verisimilitude by grounding the fictional setting in cultures that actually existed while maintaining variety."

Phoronix Forums

I'm not joking, literally every single thread is people debating or trolling or complaining about trolling. They never ban anyone except this one dude who was shitting up every single thread for literally years before the admin decided to end it. Actual discussion is completely unheard of. It's an absolutely mind-numbing place.

It does.

Hmmmm....
I just kind of observe. Don't get me wrong, I like the Codex but there's some serious 'tism about and I don't mean just the edgy Bulgarian.

Why aren't there any good games coming out anymore?
