It's sad that they cut any chance of character development. Allegedly in one of the versions of the movie he was the father of that girl stormtrooper who got kidnapped by the FO, then he (of course) abandoned the search, now "akchually he's just a guy who had everything but one day decided to live with the space bedouins because why not? lol" and the story ends with him talking to the girl like if he wanted to bang her.

And yet she's still Lando's son daughter according to this dictionary, so that makes Lando hitting on her all the more awkward because he probably fucking knows.

I know this isn't related to anything but whenever anyone shits on Porgs and asks why they exist I just wanna point out that they only are in TLJ because the island that part was filmed on was covered in so many puffins that it was easier to just make them into cgi animals than cut them out. Then it went overboard. Not saying I like Porgs but they do exist for a reason. Puffins are cuter tho.

Some people in this thread once talked in-depth about this while posting behind the scenes pics and footage that show zero puffins any time during filming. I think its possible that either Porgs were always part of the twisted marketing plan or there were Puffins initially on the island (not a lot but maybe a few) and they instantly thought these things would make nice toys, but the end result was a fused abomination of penguin, bulldog and Furby.

Matt Martin and Hidalgo are like the Matt Jarbos of Lucasfilm...

Also its amazing in a disturbing way how even Dark Empire with all its questionable decisions still managed to do more right than Disney's spectacular failure.

I swear people like Bob are the worst kinds of Disney white knights. If they're actually backed into a corner they have to bring up arguments like SW was always shit or pre-Disney was worse to try and justify their massive boner for the House of Mouse and their works simply because of shipping or because the film is essentially the personal fantasy of nu-gen fans. Rey being the nobody who becomes powerful and takes the power and status away from a pre-existing figure while humiliating them.

Not that surprising, especially since Galaxy's Edge cost them more to make, expand and repair than what they initially paid for the franchise.

On the one hand you have Jango claiming he was hired by Lord Tyranus to serve as the template for a clone army. But later, when he's conferring with Nute Gunray and the Geonosian leader, he acts surprised that the Republic could amass such a large army. Was he playing dumb, or did he really not expect it?

Yeah, he was playing dumb. He was playing both sides, so of course he never told the Separatists he created the army made to fight them.

It's a big city-world. Kamino is the coolest part of the movie, though it does rely on an unsolved mystery in Master Syfo Dias' commissioning of the clone army. I don't have a huge problem with this, but it does confuse Dooku's role.

Did they ever explain why Syfo Dias did that or what pushed Dooku to leave the Jedi Order? I remember in TCW he had a few interactions with Yoda and it seemed like they used to be close friends or something.

Disney uses the same explanations from old canon in this regard at least as far as I know. Dooku became disappointed with the Republic and the politicization of the Jedi Order and how it had become more corrupt and less spiritual/protective, so he left and was seduced to the Dark Side by Sidious with promises of change, but Palpy ended up taking complete control over Dooku and corrupting him out of everything he believed, much like Vader (and Revan before them). Syfo Dyas was Dooku's best friend and shared many of his views, but Palpatine ended up using him too but had Dooku kill him as his final test to be a true sith.

Funny thing is, the seeds of doubt within Dyas and Dooku were planted in them by Plagueis in his civilian guise when they were still young, however that part has been axed by Disney along with anything relating to Plagueis.

Very short, often less than 10 words, very generic and never specifies what that person enjoys so much, but gives it stellar praise nonetheless.

Negative review:
Substantially longer, usually an entire paragraph going into detail why that person hates the movie. Sometimes with a comment about what few things they did like.
