Predictions:
1) Google Stadia is quietly brought behind the shed and shot before October.

2) People will bitch about RE3: Remake's Jill Valentine not being sexy enough while at the same time other people will bitch that she's a fighting fuck doll.

3) Sony manages to fuck up the Playstation 5 somehow, probably forcing VR or forgetting people don't want to spend an initial $600 on a game console.

4) Ubisoft quadruples down on wokeness; final boss in WatchDogs: Brexit Edition will be a floating head of some stereotypical fat white dude.

5) Bioware takes a bite of the Big Greasy Green Burrito of Death. EA takes their staff and puts them to work making EA Sports games.

6) During Pride Month (aka "Slap a rainbow on your shit for good boi points") Nintendo of America decides to fulfill Brianna Wu's dreams and declare Samus Aran is trans and/or Captain Falcon is super gay.

7) Bethesda finds amazing new ways of sucking, but they'll show off a cinematic trailer of Starfield at E3 and everyone forgives them. Remember to continue to consume product and be excited for next product.

8) Geoff Keighley and Hideo Kojima die in a bizarre murder-suicide involving a bucketful of squid and the collected works of Kurt Vonnegut.

9) Phil Spector outed as half a dozen hyper-intelligent river otters in a person suit.

10) Overwatch will release 4 new heroes in 2020: attractive black girl, attractive white girl with robo-legs, some dude no one cares about, and attractive nondescript middle eastern girl.

11) EA announces Dead Space's return... as a mobile game rife with microtransactions.

12) Gamestop makes one final feeble effort to remain relevant before finally dying right before E3.

3) ps5 vr just means the extra box is now on the main board, saving money. sony probably has enough trouble to reduce the price to not make it another ps3 launch disaster

4) woke depends on the studio and team, remember asscreed dlc team passive aggressively shat on all the troons and homos by forcing a heterosexual relationship and labeling the achivement "growing up".
more likely that they get more kikey, 2019 wasn't a good year on top the whole vivendi shit. prepare for EA 2.0

the rest will continue to suck just as expected.

Here's my predictions. The bulk of them are gaming predictions for the 2020's decade as opposed to just the year 2020.

1. VTM: Bloodlines 2 will flop badly, or at the very best, massively underperform and barely break even. Paradox will likely take World of Darkness out behind the woodshed and put it down for good, or sell the IP off to another company for pennies on the dollar. This would affect the tabletop games too, but at a slower rate.

2. Google Stadia will be a massive bomb on par with the 3DO Console or the Atari Jaguar

3. The remakes of Resident Evil 3 and Final Fantasy VII will do quite well and turn out good, especially RE3 if the RE2 remake is anything to go by.

4. Woke culture will stagnate in 2020-2021, and likely wither and die by the early-mid 2020's now that Anita is a broke nobody and Zoe Quinn has too much negative baggage following Alec Holowa's suicide. Expect to see edgy and sexy content in games again around 2022-2025 or so.

5. Cyberpunk 2077 will be a hit, but won't be the savior of gaming that people were hyping it up to be a while back. It likely won't be woke, but it won't be "based" either.

6. One of the major "Games Journalism" clickbait mills will end up bankrupt and defunct

7. The PS5 will release and either be a smash hit because the competition is even weaker, or it will be crippled by things like Sony's censorship policies, a steep price at launch, or some unwanted shit like built-in VR.

8. Grand Theft Auto VI will likely be announced in late 2020 or early 2021, close to the time of the PS5's release. The actual release date is anyone's guess.

9. We'll see a massive change in indie gaming in the 2020's, the scene gradually shifting away from soy-filled bearded bugmen, "quirky" dangerhair punks, adventure games, and Nintendo nostalgia to M-rated edge and PS1/PS2 nostalgia. "Edgy" won't be seen as an inherently bad thing like it has been during the 2010's. We're already seeing some early signs of this with builds for indie survival horror games in the PS1-era style.

10. One of the "Big Three" will leave the console market after this console generation. My money is on Microsoft. Xbox is almost like an afterthought to them at this point. Unless Sony fucks up in a way that's truly inconceivable (even by their standards), Xbox will likely be the first one to fall.

The only 2020 prediction I really can think of is.

#1: Mount and Blade: Bannerlord comes out and it's fairly popular with the single player campaign audience. The die hard MP players and old hands who can't live without their old Warband mods will still stick around for the foreseeable future. There will be constant bickering over which is better overall, strawmen arguments all 'round.

That ain't a prediction nigger, that is fact. The very fact we can talk about Butter lord in a definite fashion of it actually being released is mind blowing to me tbh.

No, but a mission will very prominently involve you remote-controlling a Trump Baby Balloon to somehow strike at the people you're hacking.

Agreed it is surprising that it actually is releasing and isn't yet another vaporware promise. Also I'm not certain the campaign will actually be good but it will at least be something new. We'll see when they actually show what is coming.

Actually, that sounds pretty awesome. Watchdogs, if your desperately-attempting to be a franchise can give anything, give us the Baby Blumpf Balloon of Death.

My prediction is that Bannerlord early release will be completely awful, but the moding community will have it fixed within a year of launch.

Overwatch introduces a new black male character who is really good at jumping.

Mobile cancer games will dry up a bit in light of anti-lootbox legislation and restrictions slapped on China.

Star Citizen doesn't come out.

Cyberpunk 2077 is pretty good.

Some games turn out to be good even if people expected them to be not so good while others that were assumed by many to be good turn out to be not as good as expected.

I think EA will start this decade as one of the AAA heavy-hitters in the industry, but will suffer enough major setbacks that they will end the decade in rough shape, assuming that they don't get bankrupted by any legislations against lootboxes.

Blizzard will likely go under once Overwatch stops being culturally relevant. Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't they split from Activision?

Like most years only one or two games that come out will be worth playing.

Massive layoffs of Bioware at the end of the year preparing for closure in Q3 2021.
