I don’t care that she’s laughing at pewds. Pewds can take it. The problem is that she never justified that within the scope of the comic, and instead reacted to someone questioning it with being a festering asshole.

When I think ‘gamer douchebro’, I think my mate who hacks his weapons to deal 100x the damage and pretends it’s skill. There’s a lot of people like that. I don’t think “that one lets player Pewdiepie”. If you’re going to mock someone, grow a spine and name them. You were being simultaneously as subtle as an erupting fire hydrant and yet vague enough that everyone up to date would know exactly who you’re talking about, and everyone who wasn’t would have no clue.

Aside from that, most subtle edit I could do to bring this comic out of memery would be:
Panel 1: Leave as is.
Panel 2: Name Pewds, otherwise don’t change.
Panel 3: “Have you heard about the stuff hes been doing?” “Not really, I haven’t watched him in years.”
Panel 4: “Trust me, if you were up to date, you’d be chuckling too.”

Without even changing poses, that saves J, keeps new guy intact, and makes them a duo of “Naive Sweet and Knowing Sour”, a classic duo.

I'm just gonna say that for the schadenfraude of comic, it was poor attempt at one. Yeah I know it laughs at a guy getting burglarized but it's not even much to make for a joke to anyone that knows or gives any fucks about PewDiePie, and the rest of it is just the creator of the comic making the protagonist come off as a sarcastic ass.

We can absolutely throw stones because we're not the ones parading around pretending to be pillars of social justice and change. Being an A-Log or Troll shielding or power leveling or whichever term you're using wrong isn't the same as having schadenfreude, they're about not exaggerating the impact of an event, comparing your own failure of a life to any cows to make yourself feel better or trying to make a thread you rather than that of the thread's subject.

This is less about the content and more about the context; no one cares if you get sucked off in a movie theatre by a five dollar hooker, but imagine if it was a priest who has built their entire career and persona around being a moral beacon and leading others to some righteous light by policing their speech and behaviors.

And yes, you are allowed to imagine the priest in either role in that scenario, that it my gift to you.

We're just a bunch of retarded fags and autists giggling to ourselves in our own little corner of the internet. We don't advertise, we don't seek outside attention, we don't try to convert people or convince them of our perspectives.
And if we catch ourselves repeating the behaviors we laugh at then it just means another new thread for the pile.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is that the Farms is absolutely the place to throw stones and we have a term for people who try to stop us from doing that to specifically name and shame them.

I enjoy this so much. It's amazing how they took a blatant strawman and turned the whole comic on its head completely. It's such a mean-spirited comic too, so it's all the more entertaining that it got transformed into something so wholesome.

Astounding still is that the author is more apt to alienating their friends and yelling at an uncaring void rather than just taking their lumps and moving on. When people make fun of you for appearing needlessly rude and mean-spirited, it's only more fuel to the flame to get angry and start yelling back, for goodness sake. Give them a reason to like you, not a reason to keep seeing you as terrible.

As an aside, the "neon librarian" look is a bit too 60's, don't you think?

God I really hope that Jess doesn't commit suicide. The first obvious reason being that I don't wish death upon some random sperg online who drew a bad comic.

Secondly, if they committed suicide, I'm positive trans twitter would capitalize on her death by claiming the new guy meme "harassment" was the reason for her suicide. The media would be all over it claiming that "Oney and his hateful alt-right army cause death of innocent transgender woman", next thing you know, oney is fucked and it would just be one shitty awful mess for everyone who just wanted to post memes.
