I haven't listened to this debate but I've enjoyed Jones a lot when he's been interviewed on some other shows. He has a very funny boisterous and cantankerous personality, which makes him stand out a lot in a sea of shows that don't often have funny guests(or guests with much personality at all), or topics that are humorous.I mean he says the occasional big brained thing only to follow it up with boomer tier idiocy. He actually thinks google results are people saying theyre addicted to porn
He's often being interviewed about one of the books or recent articles/essays he's written. He seems smart enough during those interviews, but he's also discussing the things he's most knowledgeable about with people that mostly agree with him. I'd imagine tech and the internet aren't high among those things at all, even though he uses them both a lot to promote and host/distribute his material.him
I can definitely see him not having a nuanced opinion at all about porn. I know he often uses the example of Isreal(much praise!) broadcasting it to all the Palestinian homes as a demoralizing psychological weapon during one of their wars as a point against it. He also sees it as a tool to inflame man's base passions and instincts, lead him away from rational, beneficial activities, and down the path to soulless self-gratifying consumerism and bugman ruin, or sumthin like that. And I think that's derived from the overall thesis of one of his books about sexual liberation and it's effects on society since. I really can't imagine him being convinced of any other way to consider it, and a debate about it with him seems pointless, outside of the spectacle aspect, or just as a means of rhetorical practice.
