Simludubbing was a mistake and Funimation should stop that shit. But we all know they won't. The series is just another generic anime title (like all Anime titles post-2014 that aren't part of a larger franchise), why they feel the need to license and/or dub everything that isn't grabbed by Sentai or Viz is beyond me.

I checked Sentai for their new releases filtering it to dubs, and of the about 13 titles counted, I'm thinking only five may be entirely new dubs. Far as I can tell, Monica has not been announced for those dubs. The Twitter feed doesn't seem to bring that up, but Sentai doesn't do simul-dubs like Funimation does.

Space Dandy was a test that succeeded, so that's why they went ahead to do simul-dubs. I'll admit that I like the idea in theory because it helps level the sub and dub field a bit for fans to still converse with the same show to each other, but it's been proven time and time again it's not producing the quality dubs we'd like to have, and I think they're juggling way too many titles at once. I think there's recently been one dub so far that's had to be put on hold/fell behind because of scheduling issues. They're only sticking with it because it's been giving them more money from the popular shows of the now, and until other studios decide to hop on the simul-dub wagon, Funi's going to be monopolizing that market.

And yet, even though Lemonhead was extremely butthurt about these videos, Chupp did not think being really, really angry about videos on the Internet was a license to free money. I don't think the appeals court will, either.

A lot of people still don't grasp the concept that people are allowed to criticize you on the Internet, and if they do, you are entitled to nothing.

There was that one Kickstarter project, but yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that Funi's the only place she'll find work in for the time being.
