Something that's missing from the OP that's quite important is Nick's age. He's just 21 years old. At Charlottesville, he was 19.

His true management and leadership "experience" is limited to being President of the Student Council at his high school and being a member of right-wing groups on campus.

This is not a person who in any way shape or form was ready to attempt to lead a national movement that goes against the current prevailing culture in America. He has never had a real job. He has never personally encountered the many ills he rages against.

I think this is Nick's biggest flaw. He's locked himself into being insincere and ironic about everything which prevents anything he says from being taken seriously. You can't build a political movement on irony.
