honestly I don't believe this for an instant, Lowtax said he was alright with closing fyad if that's what it came down to and he also said he was supposed to be operating as a 'fall guy' since everyone already hates him anyway. whether or not that was true, he seems to have taken the L and fucked off and now I think it's what's happening here, that he's just being used to take the blame so that the admins (who KM previously said wanted to keep fyad open) can continue to mold it into what they want it to be

clearly they spent some time collaborating and getting their story straight but they already gave out so much conflicting information that there's no way what KM said here is the truth

My own take is that the troons want to recruit other troons. If you're doubting your fake gender identity, or if the troon community is poised to turn on you for not being fucked up enough, a popular escape is to "crack some eggs" as they say, to reaffirm your own illness and score woke points with the other troons. SA still has a large population of mentally ill, lonely, gullible cis goons, and they're all prey.
