Saw this in a /v/ thread

Nearly anything animated is now automatically flagged as "kids" stuff
Which means comments are automatically disabled on those videos and you get cancerous suggestions

If you want to know whats flagged, click on the Save option near the bottom of the video and/or look at the suggestions (if it has all that kiddy clickbait stuff, its been flagged)

Here's a few works that aren't even made for kids that got flagged

Moral Orel: Presents for God (where Orel accidentally becomes a pimp)

This scene from Fritz the Cat talking about how blacks get discriminated (has the word nigger in it):

Scene from Fritz the Cat with the Nazi Bunny, Heroin, and Hippo Titties

the POKEMON SNAP XXX thing from the Supah Nintendoh flash collab

This sounds like the "video games are toys, therefore just for kids" fallacy.

Exactly. Literally wouldn't surprise me at all if Susan Wojcicki is one of those ignorant parents who'd buy a hentai for her child because it's animated just to then storm back to the store screaming that they sold her porn.

This also makes me wonder if the anime stuff and even the stuff made by animators like psychicpebbles and hotdiggedydemon will also get flagged as well. A lot of anime out there is not really made for kids and those animators that make adult parodies of popular T.V. shows and other stuff are also at risk too.

Pretty much everyone is an open target on Youtube now.

Oh shit, this means YouTube Poops are flagged now. Yeah, not all of them have anything animated in them, but popular YTPs typically are. This has just been noticed on channels that clearly haven't been active/didn't flag their channels as not being kid-friendly, right? Is this finally what kills EmpLemon?

I guess thats just another factor to youtube’s downward spiral.

This is beautiful. The screeches of fury when people see their kids watching Fritz the Cat and being told it's 'family-friendly'will be able to be heard all across the planet.
If anything this will at least start breaking the outdated notion that 'cartoons are for kids'. Have these people ever saw the original Looney Tunes? Because that stuff was never made for kids in the first place.

I bet they have after watching Wabbit and Space Jam, then complained about the amount of violence in kids' cartoons.

The thing is that animation was never really made for kids to begin with.

If you take a look at cartoons from both the Golden Age and the Silver Age of animation a lot of stuff wasn't made for kids to begin with, a lot of it was mostly geared to adults.

With stuff like Looney Tunes you had stuff like Elmer Fudd with a shotgun, racial stereotypes, Yosemite Sam being trigger happy, and Bugs Bunny being the loveable smartass that he is.

With stuff like Tom and Jerry you had some of the most violent cartoons ever with the only thing missing was blood from the injuries.

If you take a look at the old Disney cartoons you had stuff like Goofy being a heavy smoker and trying to quit his habit.

And if you move on to Hanna-Barbera, stuff like The Flinstones was the Family Guy/The Simpsons of their day and The Jetsons being the Futurama of its day too.

A lot of animation wasn't really made for kids and animation, at least in the west, got really dumbed down in the 80's where it was mostly for kids so that they can try to sell more toys and comics to them. I still like stuff such as The Transformers but I won't deny that they were nothing but a bunch of 30 minute commercials.

Of course the 1990's and onwards they did gave more creative control to creators which is why we got stuff like Samurai Jack and Ed, Edd n Eddy but it's going to take a while for that outdated notion that 'cartoons are for kids' to finally be broken and go back to what it was before.
