See, I kinda get it. Onision is the only cow I really follow at the moment because I've been enjoying this drama and it was going by too fast to follow anything else when Hansen first started. Now it's slowing to a trickle, Hansen is running out of guests and desperately want to make more money off of this and Vince is out there getting a massive ego for being part of the crowd that's "going to get Onision taken down". I'm pretty sure both of them started off with the best of intentions, but it's gone lowkey viral and they've gotten caught up in their golden cow, so to speak. It's really dragging what ever investigation there is down the shitter. I know how fun it is to hate Greg, but had they focused on other pedophile's I feel like all of this could have been avoided as Vince wouldn't have the Anti-O group to constantly suck off. Vincent poisoned this well. Hansen looks like a complete dipshit for being so indiscriminate with his hiring. I feel like the whole Hansen "investigation" is bust. He has to now either spend valuable time cleaning up Vincent's mess, or lose most of his credibility by doing nothing. We all though that something real would come of this, but as of now nothing real has happened and the whole thing has fallen apart. Onision has the uncanny ability to slither away from any controversy that gets thrown his way.

I can't tell you the amount of times people have tried to nail this Onion over the last decade, only for it to suddenly derail itself or lose momentum immediately. It speaks a lot to Greg's preservation instinct and how detrimental overreaching is to an investigation.

The Onion will fall. Bad. But in an anticlimactic way, and with him screaming and sobbing all the way through.

If it was another cow, I might be worried, but I don't think there's anything to be concerned about with Onision. A smarter cow might try and use the Vince stuff to shift the narrative and quietly fade into obscurity until the allegations die down. But, Onision isn't the type of person to let something go/be quiet. Before Hansen, Onision was pretty desperate for someone to cover him again because he thrives on drama. The bigger YouTubers he went after during this period were smart enough not to take the bait. If Hansen, for whatever reason, stopped covering Onision, I think he'd do his usual thing and start pestering Hansen in an attempt to get more attention. I also just think, in general, the damage is done, and has arguably been done for awhile. It's not like Onision was thriving before this/hadn't had any allegations come out before. I think Hansen just provided a more official/better organized outlet, and he was a legitimate enough host to get actual victims to come forward and provide their stories.

If an FBI investigation has been launched, the Vince stuff won't matter at all to them. The worst possible case scenario is Vince has been taking the lead on speaking with them and has done a poor job, but it seems unlikely. Hansen is the one with the background in working with the FBI. Even if he isn't taking point, I'd think he'd at least be assisting whoever was and making sure they were sending appropriate information.

I agree but at the same time you cant deny that the only reason someone like Phillip Defranco covered the Onision stuff is thanks to Chris, and it's not like you can blame him really, he did the smart thing not giving Greg attention like he obviously wanted from big youtubers. But Chris gave it sort of a professional seal, when Chris Hansen covers something and even confirms that the FBI is involved, people from the outside who might not really know what's happening are suddenly aware that this isnt just petty trolly attention seeking youtuber drama but actual and serious breaking of the law. So if Chris' name falls off the case, that same mainstream crowd will lose interest.

You raise a fair point. It stands to reason that you'd want an airtight case, even with someone as water-brained as Goggalor. I think, perhaps mentioning the FBI having said evidence might have been a mistake, since you're generally not supposed to broadcast the details of an ongoing investigation. I know we all paint Gurgules as an idiot, but it's pretty clear (what with the Twitter deletions and alterations) that even he's taking this seriously enough to try and cover his tracks. And I guarantee the Twitter situation isn't the only thing he's done. Though I doubt he's competent enough to properly dispose of any evidence he might currently have. He'll probably just pop it in the recycle bin and call it a day.

Beyond being incredibly exceptional and unprofessional, he's being accused of making unwanted sexual advances towards an RSN victim, as well as going onto Deity's live stream and "victim-shaming" her in front of the entire stream.
He's also accused of giving Deity sensitive information about the case that wasn't supposed to be shared. He improperly struck channels that spoke out against he and Chris which Chris is accused of being aware of, certainly making their motives questionable.
Vincent used the investigation to scam viewers sympathetic to the Onion victims/case with his websites, and an argument could be made that Chris could also use the money.
Vincent allegedly handled the devices with evidence that were turned over to police, and he's proven himself to be questionable at the very least, also mentioning wanting to beat Greg up. And Chris has made it all seem as though he's working closely with FBI. I'm no lawyer but you could probably argue some sort of counter-point with all of that.

Search around Twitter and you'll find it all - the Chris Hansen thread may also have more. It's all alleged, and I'm not saying I agree with it all, but that's where my brain goes. It all muddies the ethical waters.

He had many opportunities to realize that he was a fool and did nothing. Vincent proved himself a fool publicly many times. Bad look for Chris to not fire him or take him off the project right away.

I think Chris Hansen is desperate to get views. He's obviously done something to get himself totally blackballed from TV, and his only way of making money is to become a youtube shit talker. He's got no money or internet experience, so he gets a dolt like Vincent to help him for 10% of the youtube bucks. He picks an internet celebrity who is on the skids and tries to make people think he has law enforcement connections to "bring him to justice". This is all an act and it's playing to people's wishful thinking. I don't think he can ride this money train for long before it all unravels. Hansen is a loser. It will catch up to him eventually.
