It's interesting to look back on how transgressive some of that stuff really was for the time. Punk, for all its extremes, was a kind of rebellion that adults could understand. Cats like Prince and Boy George, the mainstream just didn't know what to do with it. In retrospect they were lucky that AIDS came along to make us all shit-scared of having sex for most of two decades.

Spent the last few days reading through this thread,and dis dude really is a detestable person.I was somewhat aware of who he was due to the whole gold medal saga in 2018 and how he was some sort or activist from the regular media and some stuff on reddit ect.But as seems to be the norm rather than the exception these tr00ns get a free ride from media literally get away with all sorts of bullshit and nastiness,and anyone questioning the new orthodoxy gets publicly shamed and outcast by media and the sheeple mobs of twitter.

I never really got super indepth on the tr00nery stuff until i got round to lurking on the farms a few months back,i always sorta just laughed at them as freakshows and found their arguments and rationals absurd and assumed it was mostly isolated to tumblr and sites like resetera but the last 2 years it has been getting way worse this side of the pond,the last 6 months in particular have proven that have gained a form of legitimacy thats got past the point of just needing endlessly mocked but needs actual pushback

Unlike a lot of the other tr00n cow threads who are just absolute exceptional individuals that just display repulsive degeneracy at every turn,this fucker stands out as hes more focused on the straight up ideological shit and reveling in invading womans spaces and shitting on them with glee and just straight up stealing their thunder all under a veil of legitimacy.It takes following each of them over a long period of time to see their patterns of behavior to get a sense of how fucked there ideology is,and to notice that the vast majority are variations of the same garbage personality.

No one could give that fucker a good reference without losing every shred of professional or social respectability. The only option for a potential referee is to refuse, thereby avoiding potential legal action from the spiteful narc over a negative reference.
Not providing a reference from a previous employer/landlord is a massive red flag

Well, there is a real problem with letters of recommendation. Even for a guy like Rhys, no one is going to come out and say "He sucked". So you end up engaging in endless layers of kabuki trying to read the letter writer's mind and figure out precisely what's a lukewarm recommendation, what's a backhanded insult, and what's just a sperg who can't express himself clearly in letter form.
