Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

Eh, the outrage about yesterday's news is kinda misplaced

You still get some of your pokemans back for free, the thing is they're selling you a post game SwSh should have shipped with in the first place. I guarantee you this is only happening because the issues are piling on wayyy too much and GF wants to save face, if however late it might be.

If they wanted some good PR, they should've done a Hello Games and included substantial content in free updates. It's not like this was the best selling release of the whole franchise or anything.

Agree 100%. I'm just banking on the next expansions (that they implied they'll be adding after these) to either be significantly less pricey (5-10$ at most) or to be free. They've put themselves on some thin ice PR wise and they really shouldn't be adding fuel to the fire.

From what I've heard on the grapevine ALL Pokemon Den exploits (Wishing Piece, Calendar, and Victory Station) can still be done despite after the patch was released.
Considering the nature of the updates, I'd imagine that IF that's happening, it'll probably happen with the Crown Tundra. That seems to be the big Den Rework patch.

To elaborate, people figured out how raid dens worked. Essentially, it's not randomly generating pokemon. There's a den "seed" that determines every characteristic of the pokemon for each day, including if it's shiny. People figured out how to get these seeds, and how to get the information from them. Now, there's a way for people to find out where the shiny frame (read: day) are whenever they use a wishing piece, and so using the date skip methods, they can get to a day where they are guaranteed to find a shiny pokemon.

But it doesn't end there! Apparently, the game locks in the species of pokemon for each den on the day you save, plus the next 2 days. However, 4 days out the pokemon species isn't determined. So, by saving 3 days out from a shiny frame, people can use the date advance to get a randomly generated pokemon from that den that will be shiny 100% of the time. You can look now and find people hosting shiny dens. It's easier than ever before to get shiny pokemon, and on top of that most of these are 4 IV or better. It's kind of hilarious how this has all gone down, but it's kept the game alive.

Which is why I fully expect crown tundra to patch it out and introduce microtransaction raid refresh items.

Den Reset is a feature that makes the post game playable. Can you imagine how much time you would have to piss away to play the game without it?
They never intended for it to be an actual feature though. It may make the game more enjoyable than it would have been, but GF intended for those dens to have disgustingly low gacha-tier rates to get the special pokemon that were a big part of their advertising for the game (gmax). Not even accounting for getting them shiny.

It's only due to their shitty programming that the game is actually enjoyable and communities are thriving. Otherwise nobody would've given a shit about these games after a month.

Which is probably why they haven't bothered to fix them. They undoubtedly noticed the exploits after all the PokeTubers spread them everywhere, but then they also noticed the spiked and consistent level of activity as a result, so they've simply wrote it off as a "happy little accident."

In other news Mouse-san strikes again.

Anyway, I hope that this expansion adds more boxes - my PC is already 3/4 filled by this point.
Are you maxed on boxes? Your starting amount(8?) expands out once you've got a mon in every box, and continues this way up until 32, which should give you 960 bank spaces(30x32), way more than the Pokedex even counts up to currently. I ran into this issue easing back into X/Y from years off of playing Pokemon and took me awhile to discover/figure out.

Meh, Temtem kinda looks ugly to me. A lot of the monster designs kinda stink.

Funnily enough, there have been a few pokemon clones (let's face it, they are there)

An example is Nexomon: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1191580/Nexomon/

Yeah, you can see quite the inspiration. Looks kinda pretty though.
