Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

If you watch event 201

The largest concern was just money and how hotels/most businesses wouldn’t be solvent for a sustained period. Even the end is like 65million people died but the economic effects will be felt for decades. It’s like wtf? First time I’ve seen a video where the only person making fucking sense is a military official like at all.

I kind of wonder...and it's an awful, terrifying thought because if it gets that bad over there it'll be that bad over here...but if the deaths really start to mount, like in the tens of thousands or more in China if those absolute idiots in the pro-China subreddit will still be crowing about GRORIOUS CHINEE NATION UPON WHO SUN NEVA SET.

"The Los Angeles Niggers LAKERS."
"Bat Plague kill useless old fucks, now China young and strong while West is fat and old!"-Them, probably

I think it is ok to be at least cautious. I never have seen this before.
World perspective:
The Chinese response to '1400' people was a complete lie. You don't try to build 2 hospitals in 2 weeks for 1400 people.
50 million+ people on military enforced quarantine is kinda crazy.
The tanks in the street and the sobbing doctors/nurse footage is disturbing as well.
USA:
In the USA? nah. just don't hang out in metro hospitals where Chinese nationals are. Don't go to China either.
The US should ban all travel from/to China just to be safe, imo.
yeah, china is completely fucked because they ignored the problem for 3 months and have no competent disease control and won't share data with WHO and CDC. in contrast, the HHS and CDC are on top of tracking the first cases in America. they're not sitting around doing nothing. fuck they made an accurate, rapid response test in 1 week.
Then the CDC basically all but admits it's confirmed transmissible during the asymptomatic incubation period so they are just letting many carriers of the virus back into society with no real checks or balances. Maybe they already know its gone out of control and want to keep business going for as long as possible before they are forced to do something due to public outcry.
for people who actually want to judge for themselves, this is the CDC response to the question
they said 1. they can't confirm it because the chinese don't share data and 2. "in all the history of respiratory borne viruses of any type, asymptomatic transmission has never been the driver of outbreaks. the driver of outbreaks is always a symptomatic person."

I think the latest Metokur stream mentioned it.
I'm not sure I believe that story. Chinese are fucking filthy. Disease follows filth.

Oh, I concur. The simplest answer is usually the right one and we've been through this multiple times before with China.

I am however very interested in the Canadian lab/Chinese scientists case from the point of view of it being another case of ethnic/mainland Chinese overseas likely sponsored by their government to commit tech theft and espionage against the west, this time at the kind of facility where this happening is beyond unacceptable. So if anyone has any more articles about the case from before this corona outbreak, please pass them on here!

Something funny is going on. Help me understand this, Kiwis.

Since last Friday, have been interviewing Chinese nationals. Mostly looking for haircare tips.

Typing up notes today, noticed 24 out of 24 claim to have grandparents in Wuhan.

Thought this was odd. Is the entire city a retirement community?
