Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

I remember a mention that large cities often "sell" their sewage to any fertilizer producers and then ship them all over the country. To give you an idea, someone buying a fertilzier bag in Texas which could end up fertilizing his garden with shit from NY or Chicago.

Wonder if this or ANY type of disease with similar characteristics could grow in any sewage of a major city and then be spread by naive people using that same shit as fertilizer.

I have hard time to believe this, as human feces can contain intestinal parasites that would then be spread through the soil to the vegetables. This is to my understanding the reason why use of human feces as fertilizer is banned in most of the developed world.

Singapore is not only banning people from China from entering the city-state, but it bans anybody who was there in the last 14 days. The Department of Health notes that "the likelihood of widespread community transmission in other parts of China is now high. As a result, we are likely to see a sharper rise in the local transmission of the virus in Chinese cities beyond Hubei province in the coming days"

how does Singapore manage to stay sane while having basically Dictatorship ? I shudder to think what Eurocrats would do with powers like in Singapore.

The Shanghai Concessions sold their shit inland to make a quick buck in the 1930s.
Oh selling shit is quite profitable, compost is really useful for many, many applications if properly sterilized. But you do have to worry about micropollutants

The process of composting is an elaborate sterilization method that works really, really well. Compost even from sewage is way safer than regular maneure, but again, it's heavily regulated what that can be used for, at least here in europe, because sewage compost (or "biosludge" as they tried to call it the fucking marketing obsessed cunts) does have its issues. Just not infectious ones. It's more about micropollutants and ion concentrations.

Is this the kind of disease where round 1 ain't so bad, but the second round can be lethal to healthy youngsters? The superbowl is going to be a bloodbath.
We had elections here past week. If the virus is already here and incubating, we're fucked.

I honestly doubt it, but still.

Guys, talk with your kids about this, btw. Kids get scared easily :(

tl;dr testing kits and supplies are being reserved for people who are already in serious condition when they get examined. People who have had fever/cough for up to a week are being turned away without diagnosis if their condition isn't "serious enough".

That's what they should be doing though. There's no real treatment for viral pneumonia, only options to keep you alive while your body fights it off. If you don't require critical care then Christ get the fuck out of the Chinese hospital before you catch something worse.

Important news release from the BBC UK today where they state, and I quote:

"Last night, doctors in Germany confirmed cases there had spread before people even developed symptoms. "

Now I take Germans at their word, and the BBC UK is pretty darn reliable.

I'd expect the CDC and WHO to within 24 hours confirm we've been fucked and didn't know the cock was up our ass until afterwards.

Fasten your seatbelts, its going to be a bumpy ride.

Since there are actual laws in China that restrict when you can video games during the day, does this mean gamers are literally an oppressed class in China?
Gamers aren't just an oppressed class, they're the most oppressed

IIRC human waste has a very high phosphate concentration, akin to pig manure. While nightsoil works perfectly fine as fertilizer it should be treated beyond composting to amend ion concentration.
If you don't even bother to compost then you get E.coli spinach. A question regarding 2019-nCoV is the virulence of infected bodily fluids. I don't know the state of the average Chinese farm, but I presume it to be to medieval standards complete with shitting in the rice paddy. If Corona-chan - which we now know can reinfect a recovered individual - can be transmitted via bodily fluids (feces and urine especially), then places like rural China and India are gonna have a bad time.

Bought atleast a months worth of food, propane tank, some alkie on sale vodka mostly, personal hygiene stuff etc. Am I overreacting? I mean if corona chan flops atleast I'll have enough stock to endure another hurricane season. I'm oveestocked on ppe.
Okay, here’s what’s going to happen. You, a good few months down the line:

The Wu Flu spread to all parts of China, and slowly and surely around the rest of the world. China’s numbers were found to be ridiculously low, but no-one wanted to accuse them directly of a cover-up. Chen Qiushi released a dingy video purporting to show that Wuhan’s new hospital was in fact a hastily created mass grave. The stills that went viral on the internet sure look like they show a row of neatly arranged limbs, but who knows, really? Anyway Chen went missing after he posted the video.

In the U.S., the CDC, hampered by an incompetent government determined to salvage relations with China at all costs, botched the quarantine. Nothing too dramatic happened. The flu cut a swathe through the morbidly obese in Texas and the elderly in Florida. The great decimation of the fatties resulted in nothing much more than making “’My 600lb life” mildly interesting.

In your average town USA, life is normal with the exception of being a whole lot more boring. Cases of Wu Flu sprung up everywhere, and while nasty, it is rarely fatal. It was proven to be contagious before the appearance of symptoms, however, which means it was impossible to stop and people became increasingly paranoid.

You still go to work but whenever you are alone in the elevator you swab all the buttons with an antibacterial wipe. If someone is in there with you, you hit the button with your pinkie knuckle (because you don’t want to look insane, right?) while you both plaster yourselves to opposite walls.

Work is dull and you see the same people day in, day out. No-one visits from other offices and no-one leaves. Chad the Bastard from IT leveraged the crisis into a lucrative new position as head of video comms, and now he makes you sit through endless dull meetings about the latest and greatest ways to gaze sadly through the screen at the hottie who used to come to the building for training events. Your friend Mick discovered that strategically coughing in the vicinity of the nervous boss results in almost instantaneous sick leave, and thus is never there.

Your life is boring, boring, boring. Hardly anyone goes to movies anymore, or drinks on Fridays, and even if you try, the moment anyone coughs the room gets really quiet and the atmosphere turns sour. So here you sit, typing away on kiwi farms discussing the latest leaked Chinese death pit video.

Thank god for the discount vodka.

If that's the case, we should probably tell china to missile bomb the infected area then force the rest of the world out in fixing their mistake.

But that's just my thoughts.

Let's take a look at the horrifying reality in Wuhan's hospitals:

Medical staffs are using rubbish bags as protective gear because they ran out of any formal gears millions years ago.

Notice the unfitting PPE on the middle-low picture here? It is a rubbish bag.

People claiming the Red Cross in Wuhan is hoarding medical supply, which seems to be true.

'Latest news: All the supplies donated to Wuhan Red Cross are kept in Wuhan International Expo. Centre. There should be a sufficient amount, yet there are no people volunteering to transfer the supplies. Can't the Red Cross just hire somebody to move them to the hospitals? They are just gonna let all these wasting here?'

'One of my bro went to Wuhan Red Cross to volunteer, and he is ass mad right now. He said when the hospitals come to take in the supplies, they are required to hand in 6% worth of the supplies they take in by the Head. No money no supply.'
007C85Pogy1gbfxuntwpqj30b50m8abs.jpg

'The Post Office said all the supplies just lie there in the Expo. The Red Cross just won't let people touch them. Red Cross said they would get everything done, it is just that they have no manpower. So there are only 2 trucks of supplies send out to hospitals per day now.'

'This is the mask Red Cross sent to my friend in HuWa(the hospital that urge the public to directly send medical supply to hospital because they are at the front line of this pladge). It is expired as you can see. WTF,'

Front Woman: Can you ask your supervisor whatever or not you are handing out the supplies?
Man: I told you to queue up.
Front Woman: We have already lined up.
Back Woman: We all got a number.

People are saying they are doing this because the authority told them to do so, just to punish the hospitals to go around them and ask for supply from the civilians earlier on.

Also, HuWa only got 3000 masks, while JinAi, a small hospital with only 200 staffs, with no confirmed case, get 18000 KN95 from the Red Cross right at the moment. By the way, JinAi already used up 12000 masks.

3000 Masks(could be normal medical mask) to HuWa from a Miss Han. 36000 N95 from Beijing Sinjipia Biotech Inc, 16000 to JinAi,

The patients could be shivering incredibly hard (this can happen with fevers where your temp is all over the place and you feel cold when in reality you are getting hotter), seizing or god knows what. It could also be mass panic and reproduction of 'help me' behavior in some cases to try to get the few medics' attention.
This was my thought too. Esp because they're outside in the cold with shorts (assuming this video is what it claims to be). The movement of their legs don't look indicative of seizure, a lot of them appear to be doing it intentionally. I do this kind of thing when I'm donating blood to keep circulation going so I don't pass out.

But the fact they're all wearing clothing fit for a warmer season makes me lean more towards the idea that this video isn't even from West-Ardougne-Wuhan.
