Spoiler: Off-topic about abusive relationships

I saw that earlier this morning too. It broke my heart a little. I grew up believing that if a woman abuses you either verbally or physically, the manly response is to take it and suck it up. It took a lot of growing up before realizing how wrong it was. To those that haven't done that growing up yet; abusing her back is a sucker's game which will end with your ass in a jail cell, but you still don't have to take it. Just get the fuck out of there, no matter how deep in the relationship you are. Don't fall for the sunken cost fallacy or some sort of self-pitying "I can't do any better than her" trap. You can always do better than someone who insults, manipulates, or physically assaults you, even it means you'll have to be alone again for a while first. There is nothing manly about tanking abuse from a woman rather than sticking up for yourself and getting the fuck out of there instead.

Early in the Weeb Wars when Ron's history first surfaced there was a meme that Monica might have been trapped in an emotionally abusive relationship with Ron and ISWVers would semi-ironically plead with Monica to recognize this and leave Ron, and that perhaps Monica doesn't even have conviction behind her accusations and is just parroting them because Ron wants her to. Even Nick played with this line in some of his videos. It eventually fell out of use, perhaps due to the depo videos being released and us all seeing what a pasty ineffectual dweeb Ron looks and acts like in real life, but perhaps there was some truth to it all along.

I'm beginning to wonder if he deserves some pity. I'm wondering if he's trying hard to be seen as a good person by being this 'sheepdog' and that people around him including Monica are manipulating/weaponizing him with this.

There was nothing wrong with the video. He only clarified that he wasn't guilty of sexual assault or grooming. He did apologize again for his past behavior and told people to leave his accusers alone. Also mentioned that he goes to a myriad of different therapies now.

Still, some people were pissed at him for making that video. Some chick who's also KV commented he had to admit to sexual assault and that he had to be kept out of the industry.

It's funny, because the dude did everything that KV wanted Vic to do. Wrote dozens of detailed apologies. Admitted to (almost) everything. Went to therapy. Still not enough for them. They're still going hard at him in his replies and basically demand him to disappear.

I think the accusations against the guy basically boil down to "he's an asshole". He treated people like shit, that's it. Shitty, but not a crime. I also read that he has autism, that might genuinely make it hard for someone to relate to other people and their emotions. But I digress. Don't know enough about the situation.

Anyway, his example shows that Vic would have had no chance if he had taken the apology route. I think Niosi has no real future in the industry anymore and he did everything they wanted him to.

TLDR Funimation licensed and was simuldubbing (2 week delay behind the sub) Interspecies Reviewers, more or less hentai show with the premise of following a guy as he bangs fantasy chicks and makes a review.

Funimation did the first dubbed episode, then noped out of there.

Amazing. I don't know how much it costs to license anime but I expect that it isn't cheap. Imagine paying for a license, getting through one whole episode of dubbing, and then not knowing where the fuck things were gonna go. You can't even give them the excuse of not knowing because of that tweet of theirs advertising the series, not to mention the manga they should've at least peeked at to get some sort of heads-up.

EDIT: I forgot that the first episode (which they fully dubbed) title is "A Hot 'n Heavy Debate About Elf and Human MILFS, An Angel Ascends at Meow Meow Paradise, Can't Get Enough of That Sensitive Birdmaid Cloaca!"

I find this cancellation of a dub utterly hilarious. I highly doubt that Funi bought the license, decided to translate and dub the show, then publish the first episode without knowing what they were getting into. It is not that Funi doesn't want to dub this kind of shit, it is because they can't anymore. I'm sure as soon as the first episode was published, they were getting called out. This company put itself behind some kind of moral crusade. They simply cannot operate as they always have without being seen as total hypocrites. Because this is very hypocritical to the narrative the defendants are using. The work environment cannot be sexually charged anymore because they fired a man for a non-sexual jelly bean joke and consensual interactions. But this is what Funi is. This is the type of work the defendants do. These are the things they find funny and entertaining. So how does Monica get offended over a jellybean? The answer is, she didn't.
