Monica Rial / Monica Jean Rial / Rialisms & Ron Toye / Ronald Toye III / rontoye3 - 5th Bulma and Ron "Pick Up the Phone or You'll Find Your Dog Dead When You Get Home" Toye

It isn't unheard of, JYB really only uses 1 voice with varying intonations. Cherami Leigh (to my knowledge) really only does 2-3 voices.

The difference is that they're hella more professional than Monica and want nothing to do with this cancer.
Not uncommon in Japan either. Takehito Koyasu is one of the most prolific Japanese VAs since the mid-90s and he is instantly distinguishable in almost any role he plays.
all the VAs I know that voice boys (Lani Minella, Veronica Taylor, Barbara Goodson) are all on the older side, so maybe we need to give dear old Monica 10 years more to tune those vocal chords down

oh god I just imagined what Monica would be like 10 years from now, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-
Lots of younger women can pull it off too, like Romi Park who did Loran in Turn A Gundam and is the original Edward Elric.

It has been 365 days since Ms. Rial dropped this bombshell of a tweetstorm:
(by the way, thank you, Mr. Knighten, for reminding me.)

As I reflect on this one year ago, I was actually one of the people who initially thought Vic was a piece of shit. But now that I look upon this emotionally charged thread... that's all I see. Emotion. No substance.
The "everything" that she told us? IIRC, it ended up being a consensual thing.
Everyone who said to "go to the cops"? Her response sounds like she didn't even try telling a proper authority. In fact, I don't think she even told Funimation until last year. And he did ask for forgiveness, in an email. Maybe not at your "moment", but he sounded so confused. And we have witnesses corroborating.
The other voices? Jamie Marchi has not said a word based in proof. Hell, she was dodging papers. Some of those voices were unabashed liars. Some of them came up with wild stories with no receipts. Maybe some truly did feel creeped out (pressing HARD X on that, btw), but again... no receipts.
I want to believe that KV's hearts are in the right place. But every time I look upon this thread and the general Weeb Wars thread... that hope just gets dashed further and further. Every argument I see ends up being baseless or a lie. At best, there is ignorance abounding. At worst, utter malicious intent.

You can look upon the Twitter thread and see the people who support her. Some of them haven't spoken up since then, Cristina Vee, Elizabeth Maxwell...

This whole thing sucks.

I agree. Everything about this is bullshit and it sucks because of how far-and-wide Funimation's tentacles reach and how many licenses they own that I personally like. But now it's hard to take those stains off those titles so I can continue to enjoy them without having to worry about the elephant in the room.

There's been some people who've expressed legitimate displeasure for Funimation, but I brushed them off because "That's, like, your opinion, man." To think they were right all along. *sigh*

How exactly is that a bad thing? I mean, look at Peter Cullen or Keith David. I'm sure they can do more than 1 voice, but who gaf.

It isn't a bad thing, as long as you become a better actor over time.

Now, TBH, I actually haven't watched anything with Monica Rial in it for well over a decade now. I can't judge her talents then vs now.

Seems to be an issue with VA's who mainly work on anime. Western cartoon VA's have more range.

Lani Minella, Jennifer Hale, Cree Summer, Grey Delisle, April Stewart, and the late Janet Waldo are very good at doing different voices. And dare I say it love or hate her but Tara Strong.

The late Mary Kay Bergman was a MASTER of this by the way. Compare all her South Park characters, Daphne on Scooby Doo, and Disney's Snow White.

Is Ron still talking to Nick, or is this simply stuff Nick hasn't made public yet?

That "one voice in a sea of many" bit sure hits differently now. The sea turned out to be a dry, salt-encrusted lake bed.

I wonder if she's losing all this weight because she is realizing she's going to have to do better than the sheepdog.
It's probably so her story that Vic was attracted to her and managed to throw her onto the bed without the bed disintegrating, floor giving way and hotel collapsing could be even remotely believable for the jury.

Is Ron still talking to Nick, or is this simply stuff Nick hasn't made public yet?

Both.
This will be stuff he didn't cover and Nick confirmed not too long ago that Ron is, in fact, still sending DMs to him.
Ron, Nick isn't going to touch your cuck cage.

Peter Cullen actually does have quite a few voices. Maybe not like his colleague Frank Welker, but he does have some range. You can usually tell its him, but it's not just Optimus Prime voice and nothing else.
