Jaron Seth Bloshinsky / Jazz Jennings / I Am Jazz - Puberty Blockers: Not Even Once

I mostly meant Jazz's overall social display of intellect--in that there isn't any. Sometimes, you can tell how smart someone is by how they conduct themselves on a social level, relating situations to the things they've learned. Jazz never does any of that shit. He hasn't learned anything over the course of his adolescence. He gets his way no matter what and has only ever learned things concerning his transition, all of which were ultimately extremely harmful to his development and wellbeing. He has no real experiences, growth, or social skills to speak of. He's an overgrown child with a bag full of nothing. And no amount of virtual school gpas. Harvard admissions, or "activism" is going to change that. Really the only ones that seem to care about education are Ari and the twins, the former more than the latter. And look what happens? Jeanette treats them like they barely exist.

A lot of kids at these online schools are cheating in various ways, and there's no way Jeanette wasn't putting her little stamp on every assignment she turned in. How could she help herself? She has not shown any self-control over sculpting her son's image at any other point.

I agree. I just have to doubt the gpa is legitimate purely on the fact he never went through puberty and his brain is severely stunted on all accounts. But Jeanette, being the narcissist she is, can't accept anything less than the stunning super intelligent trans daughter she must have. (While ignoring her eldest real daughter who was accepted into grad school).

You gradually overestimate the intelligence of a 4.0 GPA kid. Most kids who have 4.0's aren't going to reference history or shit like that, especially public education ones. They only get good grades because "lol gotta get a high grade to get into a good college". They are as dumb as the rest of them, it's just that they do the work. Public education sucks and private does too, for other reasons.
Jazz is not particularly educated or intelligent. I worked in a field related to high schoolers applying for college and the competition was insane. You basically need perfect SAT scores and about 50 extracurriculars to get into a school like Harvard. Believe me-Jazz got in as a token.

When talking about Jaron's intelligence, personality (or lack thereof), maturity level, ect. Keep in mind that the tv show isn't representative of real life. It's heavily edited to make real people into tv characters. Maybe he's into classical greek theatre and is currently rereading Oedipus Rex for the second time this year. How would we know about it though? The show is about a boy and his frankenpussy, and outrageous clips of him doing absurd stuff like talking about vaginal depth with his grandma will keep people from changing the channel.

Jazz’s self proclaimed stats:

Class Ranking: 1 out of 113
Cumulative GPA: 4
Academic Core GPA: 4.4457
Weighted Cumulative GPA: 5.4138

However I’ve seen it pointed out that a 5.41 GPA is basically mathematically impossible, and I notice her standardized test scores haven’t been made public, which suggests they weren’t terrific. Also, Jazz went to an online school, and I wonder what was stopping the family from just hiring someone to do all the work and take all the tests for her.
A 5.0-6.0 is perfectly mathematically plausible with how Florida weights it's GPAs (Honors go to 5.0 and AP/Dual enrollment to 6.0).

Dual enrollment classes are offered online via Florida's college system too.

I think you can gather enough from various interviews and confessionals to make a pretty good guess.

A pleasant reality of life is that chances are, no matter how dumb you are, you are smart when it comes to at least ONE subject. Jazz hasn't found it yet. He's not smart about trans issues because he wouldn't be shilling the fact that his parents castrated him at too young of an age. But there's got to be something he's good at or takes interest in besides mermaids and food. Maybe it was soccer before the hormones caused him to balloon. The problem is that his parents will never let him foster a real creative non-shallow interest that contributes to his growth as a person. Even stunted people can find a niche that suits them if nudged significantly. On top of that, his interests are not healthy on an emotionally coping level. Staying inside all day whilst binge eating doesn't absolve you of your pain. It only fosters more anxiety and poor health habits.

Jazz should take up gardening. It's a girly enough thing so you could manipulate him into it. I've met so many women with severe anxiety learn to breathe and chill out while maintaining a garden. Having something to successfully create does wonders for teaching you patience and responsibility. Little hobbies like that would help Jazz relax while also not fostering his exploitation or entitlement.

You can’t do dual enrollment OR AP classes at Florida Virtual Academy though; GreatSchools lists the dual enrollment and AP rates at under 1%. So how did Jazz get such a high GPA? Unless he didn’t, and is lying about it. The school can’t say otherwise, due to confidentiality laws.

(Which, incidentally, is why I always doubt news stories saying “such and such school did such and such terrible thing to such and such student.” The student and their parents can tell the news whatever outrageous lies they want and legally the school cannot contradict them because student matters are strictly confidential under privacy legislation.)

A reminder that grades rarely reflect a person's actual level of intelligence. They can be an indicator or how much driven they are, memory, perhaps certain specific skills, but that's it. Many smart people have low grades and viceversa.

Jazz' problem is that he's emotionally underdeveloped. He has the mind and personality of a child and remember that small children also go to school and can perform well. Also young people tend to be more casually relaxed when they're in a safe environment. If Jazz was going to speak for a different audience, he could probably change his speech.

I was thinking this, too. There are people who pretend to be smarter than they are, a minority pretend to be less intelligent than they really are, but for the most part you can get a pretty good guess about how intelligent people are just by observing them in conversation. Jazz is not very smart.

Seems like

Seems like if Jazz was taking dual credit classes, Jeanette would have been crowing nonstop on the show about how intellectually advanced Jazz is, and TLC would have used it to create drama around "poor stressed perfectionist overachiever Jazz taking on soooo many rigorous academic endeavors!!! Has he overloaded his schedule? Can he handle the academic stress on top of preparing for intestivag surgery and wasting so much time on fake dates with hired extras?"

Hahahaha fake dates with hired extras. Insane. I watched both episodes this season I’m waiting for episode 3 this Tuesday have it on record will be watching. I like Jazz. The situation with the vagina is very interesting to me I need to know more regarding this topic actually to be hella blatantly honest regarding this information hahahah whats up in Africa George. Poor Amir etc he just needs to be a friend for now and understand that jazz has a long journey ahead.

Is it official that Jazz is bulemic?

I can't stop thinking about the binge. How often does this happen that Jazz scarfs an extra 3,000 calories? I feel like I've spiraled into chaos when I eat another 300.

I'd chalk it up to Jazz eating like a normal 20 year old guy and the hormones fucking up his metabolism, causing him to bloat. Being castrated hasn't helped.

Bulimia would also require that he purge, i.e. throw up after eating or abuse laxatives to try to 'undo' the caloric intake. I think he's just a regular binge eater - although depending on how bad and/or frequent his binges are, he might qualify for a diagnosis of binge eating disorder or EDNOS (eating disorder not otherwise specified.)

They're both pretty useless as diagnoses - at best, the treatment is therapy (and we know Jazz loves that!) or you'd be directed to a group like Overeaters Anonymous, but even most eating disorder specialists seem to consider plain ol' binge eating as more of a failure of willpower (fat people gonna eat!) or a maladaptive habit (you feel sad, so you eat food? - fix your life, dude) than a dangerous disorder (i.e. you'd rarely see someone with binge eating disorder in a hospital unit, but anorexia or bulimia will both land you in there pretty quickly because they can actually be life-threatening; binge eating might kill you in 20 years when you're 400lbs+ and your heart gives out, but it's not usually a potential emergency.)
