Well, because it's not pagan, any more than the word good is pagan, or the word deity. It's just a label, not a name for a specific entity. Now, if you're trying to argue it's pagan because the word is not hebrew in origin you will need to apply the same rule of thumb to literally the entire english language, save the few with associated roots and other loanwords, though these are quite limited.
