Trump Derangement Syndrome - Orange man bad. Read the OP! (ᴛʜɪs ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴅ ɪs ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴋɪᴡɪ ғᴀʀᴍs ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡs ɴᴏᴡ) 🗿🗿🗿🗿

They are on the cusp of self awareness...

Ever play one of those games where the shitty AI just walks off an edge eliminating itself? Now you know what it's like to be Donald Trump.

Here's the thing you need to remember about pandering: it only works if people don't know you're pandering to them. If they can tell you're trying to or if you're doing it in a blatant way, it will come off as disingenuous and/or insulting. Ergo, it will blow up in your face. See: Hillary's mariachi band in 2016.

Pandering works if it's substantive or has practical effects, even if people know you're doing it.

Say a white candidate puts on a dashiki, visits a black church, and speaks in Ebonics about how much he cares about the black community. Unless he's got a history of doing all of the above in his private life, that's blatant pandering, and everyone involved knows it. Whether they care or not depends on how much they trust the "I'm on your side" signalling; it's an implicit promise that your voice will be heard once he is elected.

Now say a white candidate never does anything like that, and he announces he'll dump money into black districts, black community service projects, and HBCUs. That person is also pandering, but if you care about getting money to those places, the pandering works just fine. It's tacit vote-buying, with a promise of future money instead of an immediate bribe. Usually it's wrapped up in the same kind of signalling the first guy did at the church; the "problem" of politics is deciding whose future promise to trust, based on their campaign signalling.

Finally, say a white candidate merely promises to appoint a number of black people to high-visibility positions on his staff. This is also pandering, even if the black people in the crowd do not directly benefit from being hired; it is generally benefiting the class of people they identify with. This is partly why the left pushes class identification and class analysis so hard, because it lets them deliver "benefits" for minimal effort to people who buy into that identification.

In all 3 cases you know the pandering exists, but if you like the promised outcomes, you may not care. It's insulting, sure, because it assumes you will subsume your individual status into the status of your class. It treats your class like a homogeneous blob, like a stereotype who all hold the exact same values and want the exact same thing.

But if you're already thinking like that (because you're a leftist) or you're willing to overlook the insult to get the benefits (because you're pragmatic), then the pandering works.

To be fair this was a good idea as anyone would look attractive and smart next to those dumpy sluts.

:optimistic:
Is this why gay people like the wizard of oz so much?
This guy has been around for what 40 years now in the public eye but his detractors still don't get that the orange face and toupee are absolutely part of his brand and have probably served to get Trump more free media coverage over the decades than anyone really deserves?

And that orange face and toupee has grabbed more pussy than any of us combined.

Are you implying that Pokemon Go to the Polls! was not a smashing hit with the youths demographic?

Here in reality the National Socialists closed most of Germany's stock exchanges and stopped citizens from owning foreign stocks due to the attitude that Wall Street/London were Jewish controlled, and also fucked up the economy by closing most small businesses and forcing them to combine into cartels. That's literally why they decided to go to war everywhere, their economy sucked.

I'm gonna make my prediction for the dem primary. Bernie will have the most delegates, but not 50%. Whether he actually doesn't reach 50% or dems funny math him again, it doesn't really matter. This will result in a brokered convention, where the superdelegates crown pretty much whoever they want. Somehow, this will be blamed on trump.
Only tangentially related to TDS, but since the entire dem primary is just one big party of competing over who has a worse case of TDS, I think it fits.

I'm not sure where else to put this, but Aaron Zelinsky--the top prosecutor for the Mueller investigation's case against Roger Stone just resigned from the case--and it sounds like Jonathan Kravis might have just bailed out, too, and is resigning from the D.C. U.S. Attorney’s Office. They're all starting to hop off the ship.
