Tom Clancy's The Division

Well yeah, it's the end game. Map explodes with Shit That Needs Doing. Looking for a definitive end in a loot based game feels a bit misguided, IMO.

Man I need to go back to Div 1 and see if I can finally finish Survival, I always get killed by those hunter bastards.
Queuing solo for any of the endgame stuff takes an eternity, just be warned. Matchmaking isn't much better.

They're a cakewalk once you know (and exploit) their weaknesses and AI routines. Save your resources for a (bullet) turret, aid station and M60e6 in the Dark Zone. Spec the M60 for fire rate and damage as best you can. I always extract at the library in DZ02. Right before I start the extract I toss the turret on top of one of the pieces of cover, drop my aid station, then wait. The turret will get temporarily disabled by the hunter but it comes back online quick, and when it does it will more often than not spot them before you do and start shooting at them. Better yet the hunter will almost always engage the turret instead of you, so you can focus on him without him shooting you too much (the aid station helps here).

Toss a grenade or something to make him dive out of cover, then hose him down with the turret assisting you. Once you're riding the lighting on the M60 and have it at full accuracy hitting a hunter out of cover or desperately running to cover it's over for them. I've found this works even when someone else comes to get extracted and they trigger more hunters. More than 2 and it starts getting hairy, but still doable. I remember one time I watched a group of randoms extract on the parking lot roof of DZ01 and get flooded with hunters. Entertaining view from across the street that was.

Did so much apparel cost money in the first Division? Changing basic clothes costs money in the new one.

I'm wondering if they'll add swaths of microtransactions to the new Ghost Recon.

If we're talking about simple stuff to outfit your guy? Not really, you could get clothes via random drops or just by getting some cypher keys and opening some of the ingame boxes, if you get a double those would get turned into cypher key part.

Changing basic clothes doesn't cost money in Div 2. There's plenty of cosmetic drops, mostly from looting cupboards and things, it's just the "basic" pool is smaller because there isn't a dozen variations of the same hat this time around.

Okay, so there was some gambling loot mechanic rather than just free choice of what to wear + unlockables as you beat bosses. That's what I was getting at. Whew.

Division a shit

I guess, but it's just simple outfits and not weapons/gear. So, I don't really see much of an issue since you don't even need to spend real money to get said keys to unlock said outfits.

The first DLC is going into the PTS within a week or two, and will include a big skill revamp. Skill requirements are now topping off around 3k (compared to 9k before...), and have much greater impact - a 3k turret mod, for example, increases the turrets fire rate and damage by about 150% on top of the buffs you're getting from that skill rating in the first place.

(unlike Div 1, Div 2 skills don't really scale with skill power - something that a ton of people have taken issue with for obvious reasons)

Massive stated that guns are still intended to be your primary source of damage, but skill builds are now "guns support powerful skills" rather than "skills outclass guns for two seconds, then drop into uselessness".

No specific details until the test server goes live, though.

Title Update 5 went live today. Everybody gets access to the raid's matchmaking difficulty, but season pass owners have exclusivity on the new missions until next Tuesday.

Haven't had a lot of time to dive into it, but skills are a ton of fun again. I'm popping out seeker mine swarms every ten seconds, and even with minimal skill power investment I'm clearing entire groups of enemies - elites and veterans survive, but with fucked armour.

So I haven't played for a little while and wasn't going to post until Episode 6, buuuuut

Unfortunately for Ubi, the spergs uncovered a trail leading to leaks of the Year 2 content - three free expansions, and a paid one.

Warlords of New York: https://www.reddit.com/r/thedivisio...york/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

Absolutely no idea on how substantial this will be, but given Episode 6 is completely revamping the loot systems, character builds and so on I suspect something rather large!

Just a heads up.. The Division 2 is only 3 dollars on all platforms. Might be US Only.. (At least on PC)

Year 2 content
I thought they had moved on to their next game (Avatar) given how little they cared about The Division 2.

It's their way of getting new players as they reveal what they will do for the Year 2 (unless half of it get delayed):

Warlords of New York looks pretty neato. Not sure how I really like the season pass approach they seemed to be teasing (I don't like it in Destiny 2 either), but infinite progression definitely got me interested a little bit. Plus, I still prefer NY over DC, so more NY stuff is always appreciated.

Also you can pet the dog. About fucking time.

No, it's still going strong. There was some drama when the Ubisoft earnings call went through, but people eventually realised "performed under our executive's expectations" is different to "game sold well and is objectively more active than the original at the same point in its life".

Speaking of which, Episode 3 tomorrow. Gear 2. 0 pushed back a bit though, presumably to coincide with Warlords.
