So, he’s saying that children with thoughts of self-harm should be encouraged for those thoughts, just that they should do it gradually and in a “safer” method? If you’re having morbid thoughts like that at 11, if I didn’t know any better I’d think you were destined to become a serial killer. What other type of child daydreams of casual mutilation?
