EDIT:
James's knock off Half in the Bag makes me appreciate the REAL Half in the Bag way more. In this one everyone's talking over each other, they keep jumping back and forth in the narrative, everyone's awkward. It's a mess.

Same, after watching it I realized that Mike and Jay actually are good at what they do because this thing can fall apart very easily.

There's a whole subreddit dedicated to talking about drama with Cinemassacre and the declining quality of videos called /r/thecinemassacretruth but the tl;dr is that James obviously cares less about the AVGN/Cinemassacre and it shows in the videos. The newer videos have also allegedly been ghostwritten by Screenwave Media as well. It's led to a very mixed quality of the AVGN episodes now with both James being clearly less interested and the writing being done by someone else. Then there's Mike Matei being a lolcow with plenty of infamous incidents such as "brown bricks in Minecrap", his penis size, or his loco bandito comic.

Here's a short summary of why that sub exists and a megapost on the drama brewing. It's not a quick explosion like the fall of Channel Awesome was but more or less a slow burn.

James got bored with AVGN after a decade saw the writing on the wall with how Youtube was going corporate friendly, sold out to Screenwave lets them do most of the work..shows up to record things, goes home and collects a paycheck to pay for a wife that doesn't seem very friendly towards his hobbies/job.

Jims videos are very entertaining. His Channel Awesome videos probably were the videos that made me a fan of his content in the first place. Proton stream was great, wish he really would do another one of those. I wish I could catch more of his streams, but the Wu-Flu stuff is pretty fascinating actually. I would have to say though he should probably switch it up a little more though...

Probably because the subject matter is very easy to talk about and make fun of. China and the WuFlu is such low hanging fruit these days.

The only people who have a problem with people making fun of China and the WuFlu are mostly woketards and commie-LARPers. (And Stonetoss but that was a long time ago during the HK Protests' media peak)
