After having my covfefe, there was a knock on the door. A tremendous banging at the door was tremendously loud. The secret police were all trannies. They pretty much had to give up on the idea of a solid concrete wall as border patrol told them how it'd be a bad idea (since they want a border barrier they can see through) plus they hardly had the money to construct it (especially since the ground wouldn't support such a structure that easily in much of where they'd be placing barriers.

If you haven't followed the news on the border at all, Trump did end up getting money he wanted for building the border barriers though, having both last year and this year gone about shifting money around at the Pentagon by declaring a national emergency and winning in the courts when challenged on whether he had the ability to do so (he does). Big issue at this point is mostly about eminent domain as the government is trying to buy people's land for future construction.

The biggest issue I have comparing Trump and 1984 is that all the draconian bullshit was used by the Inner Party to control the Outer Party.

Proles were expected to work in a factory, get off work, spend two hours at a pub and go home. As long as they had beer and football, they were content.

For fuck's sake, Newspeak was developed for the Outer Parth. Same with the weird surveillance radios and televisions.

I actually saw someone describe themselves as a "champagne socialist". And it was not ironic, they apparently thought that it was a fantastic descriptor for someone to brag both about their affluence and their generosity with everyone else's affluence. At this point the left has become so comfortable with its own hypocrisy that it's hardly even worth pointing out to them.

While you're joking, this does make me wonder what she's got on him. The dude clearly understands the value of messaging or he wouldn't have bought and invested so heavily in the media. (Notice how the left despite all their howls about collusion and corruption has absolutely no problem with someone being both a politician and news media mogul, even when his news agencies explicitly say they're going to refuse to cover negative stories about him.) It seems implausible that he would think running with Hillary would be a legitimate vote draw, considering.

I gotta wonder if the Clintons have a fair few of Epstein's records themselves, and Bloomberg really doesn't want them leaking how often he flew the Lolita Express or something. Something in that vein.

This site tracks it the best they can https://www.trumpwall.construction/ 115 122 miles built (updated from Trump speech earlier), 509+ in planning stages with the aim of completing 450+ by the end of 2020.

Congress didn't want to fund it during the government shutdown and money that was eventually given was for updated facilities, so he took ~3billion from Pentagon defense budget. It was held up for a while due to a court challenge but eventually dismissed and it's likely Trump will go back to the defense budget for more funding if he's re-elected.

There was a thread in A&H the other day crying about its impact on ancient Indian burial grounds, that should speak volumes.
