Whenever I see Spoony on a Blu-Ray disc that also contains Mara Wilson, I am always amazed at how many professional opportunities he was offered.

Now, all he wants to do is lie there and do nothing as everyone keeps beating the dead horse with bats. And all he keeps saying is “Nothing will Change”

That's the kicker, everyone has tried. No one has just left Spoony to twist in the wind, at a certain point you must over come yourself. You can not rely on others to take you out of a hole you dug yourself into. Miles, Linkara, Doug, Noahs Parents, Brad, etc etc etc can ALL try but the fact is he has either ignored them or has given up on their advice meer days into it. After a while you can't do anything for someone like that. Its the old saying "you can lead a horse to water but, you cant make him drink." I feel shit to say, but if his family can't get him out of it, why should they try? Yes they can be concerned and hope he comes out of it alright, but if he's going just refuse and shit it back at you anyways, whats the point in going through the effort? I love my family too but, if I had a brother like Spoony? I'd feel bad sure, but there is only so much I can do before I say "Look man I have my own life to worry about, I can't take my time to fix your mistakes."

There's also the fact that you could churn out the most educated populace in the world, but if all there is waiting for them is a crappy job market because you insist on outsourcing jobs and importing a foreign workforce to compete with the nation's wage earners, then it isn't going to do much good. The best that education could do is indoctrinate a new crop of kids to support the current broken system and reconcile themselves to living a life that's worse than what their parents had. (But at least we have smart phones and video games!)

Not to mention that if you really want to improve education, you should get the government LESS involved in subsidizing tuition and force these colleges to be competitive and offer more affordable classes instead of chaining students to massive government loan payments that reduces their net income even if they DO find a job.
