It's probably not the deaths that drove that decision to be made, it's the inability of hospitals to accommodate thousands or, God forbid for them, millions more infected if quarantines aren't put in place. No beds, a horrible medical worker-to-patient ratio, and dwindling supplies are enough to spook the CCP to enact draconian measures, even before we start thinking about how many deaths are actually caused by the virus. I suspect it's even worse for rural areas without access to hospitals in the area.

P.S. I know the post "Highlight" system is derived algorithmically, but is there a way for mods to manually tick certain posts as Highlighted? There are some posts that contain content and videos that are archived here that doesn't get enough ratings to get the Highlight tag. Well if copper can do so indeed it would be because of its value as an ion, so I see no reason loose ions without the matrix wouldn't achieve the same effect, hell they tend to be more reactive instead of less. So I'd say that's a yes.

Yes, it's not THE FLU™, but coronavirus IS A FLU, a flu that is new for most of us, that's why it's so hard in the body. It's more aggressive than a normal flu, and if it's so devastating in China is because Chinese people have terrible conditions. if an actually outbreak happens in most countries, the problem won't be the virus itself but lack of good implements to cover all patients and bad conditions of such patients. I'm sure the average kiwiposter will be fine.

How you prevent it? Same precautions as with the normal flu: good hygiene, good food, excersise, keep any preexisting illness checked (obesity, asthma, etc). People really don't know how to prevent the flu. I have a friend who is an actual doctor and she was worried about how to keep her child flu-free in winter. There are also many ways to boost your inmune system around. Google that too so you'r eprepared when/if it hits you.

Again, it's gonna hit us hard, but we can make sure we are able to respond well to it by being prepared. Don't be afraid by reading things like "it will spread all over the world and 60% of people will get it!" because most diseases have already spread all over the world, close to 100% of people (not counting isolated groups) have been exposed to them and the big majority of the population is and will be fine.

Endless Legend is technically about the world going to shit but its more kinda fantasy thing.

Endless space is about being a spacefaring race and a surprising amount of them have become spacefaring because of their homeworlds collapse so it fits too, in a way. Aside from that, Frostpunk is fucking amazing, Return of the Obra Dinn isn't about the apocalypse as a whole but it is about discovering how everyone in a derelict ship died, and it feels fairly apocalyptic, The Talos Principle is a postapocalyptic puzzle game of all things, Vaporum is about exploring a city that's gone to shit in the middle of the sea and everyone's fucking dead, 7 Billion Humans is about... another type of apocallypse where a utopian machine society results in all of humanity being shoved into a single skyscrapper, The Last Federation is... a game about being the last survivor after the alien races blow up your planet trying to figure out how to keep them from blowing more planets, Atom Zombie Smasher you can guess, Vermintide is about a ratmen apocalypse, Pit People is a comedic take on an apocalypse being caused by a moon sized dead bear falling from the sky, Most soulsborne games fit the apocalyptic theme in odd ways, Stephen's Sausage roll is both after the apocalypse and during a second apocalypse (spoilers I guess), the submachine series is a point and click exploration of a broken, deserted world, most Myst games and Obduction are about some kinda world going or gone to shit (and they're making a new one yaaaay!), oh here's a damned great one: PATHOLOGIC 2. Just, if you only take 2 from this list, frostpunk and pathologic, you won't fucking regret either!
