Nascar fans are people who like watching shit go fast and watching people actually risk their lives for something entirely pointless. They fucking know it's stupid, they fucking now it cost millions per race but they don't give a shit cars go fast you get to drink beer and people drive at a couple of hundred miles an hour for a few hours.

The people that are watching Pickard are watching flashy CGI and storytelling that wouldn't be out of place on watpad and they think they are watching something intelligent and important. It's like asking whos the retard the guy entertained by shaking keys in front of his face and he knows he's being retarded or the guy who insists the jangling of keys has some special deep significance. I'll give you a hint, we used to euthanize the lader.

Hell, let me add to this to make the Nascar people even LESS exceptional.

It's a communal event. You get some moderately expensive food, you get a beer, you gather up your buddies (Or make a few next to you), and you watch some basically mindless entertainment while shooting the shit.

Its a concept as old as humans, find something super simple that doesn't have any high-emotion investment, get together, and have a good time with some mildly to moderately fun entertainment to watch.

What are you talking about? Between 2009-2017 America was a wonderful, magical place. There were no mass shootings, all the isms and phobias were eradicated (until that mean, nasty doody head Trump bought them back) and 3000 innocent civilians most certainly were not killed in airstrikes ordered by the president.
