You know as a fan of jim I don't really mind that he is streaming the same shit over and over again. I mean sure: it is shit popcorn content; the superchats are from people who want a parasocial relationship with jim and thus can be cringy; and he hasn't made a video in over 2 months.
But... I kinda don't want him to right now, as his shit is kinda shit when forced. I mean compare the last two channel awesome vids he made to the black history shit. The former is kinda entertaining but forgetable and the later is memorable as fuck. Jim clearly had more fun with the blacked kangz rather than the tgwtg crew. It is probably why he is streaming corona-chan, as being a happening boomer is more fun than being forced to talk about retards. Plus superberries are always nice.
If he stopped streaming today and made videos they are most likely to be subpar compared to his other shit. Plus people will complain that he covered it wrong, that is probably why he doesn't talk about catbois nickers or JF.

Tl;dr Jim's streams are shit but if he was forced to make videos again they probably be worse and you guys would probably complain anyway. Plus money is nice.

It’s not so much that his recent streams are repetitive or lazy (though they certainly are). It’s more the fact that he is commenting on matters that everyone is already talking about, including the MSM. Hard news isn’t really his lane. It’s not his “beat.”

And that gets to the heart of the matter here: in spite of his internet shitposting veneer, Jim’s activities can be fairly categorized as freelance journalism (arguably “Gonzo journalism,” for those familiar with Hunter S. Thompson’s work). Jim rose to prominence as a cultural commentary guy, and he carved out a niche reporting on obscure, degenerate subcultures. People were interested in Jim’s work in part because of the sheer oddity of his subjects, but also because it went against the prevailing cultural zeitgeist. In an era of great cultural turmoil and politically correct censorship, Jim fulfilled an important civic function by exposing cultural rot to public scrutiny.

Of course Jim’s presentation helped (he has a golden voice and razor sharp wit), but the most important factor in his success was that he covered stories nobody else covered, and he voiced a perspective that many were afraid to speak. That’s why this “Corona Chan” stuff doesn’t resonate as strongly with his audience. The boomer commentariat has it pretty well covered.

Anyway, as gay as it sounds, I do count myself among Jim’s “fans.” He’s a brilliant guy, and I’m sure he’ll bounce back from this with an expose’ on some as yet unforeseen faction of Internet weirdos. That’s his bread and butter. Nobody does it better. In the mean time, I hope he finds some inspiration. His boredom is palpable.
