I want to ask some people and give my takes as well.

To the people who like to jeer and make fun of 'its just a flu bro' I am not sure if you think the flu in general is supposed to be some "butterfly kisses" disease. Flus can kill and they can kill anyone, not just the infirm ones. Of course if you are healthy then your chances of survival are heavily weighted in yout favor but your death chance is never 0%. Flus are serious business for all and you should take care of yourself cause even if the wu flu doesn't come for you there are still other illnesses at your door. This isn't a call to panic just to exercise some judgement.

I want to know if people honestly think that this will cause any sort of long lasting global poliitical change, it will not even scuff up the CCP all that much in the long run. It will (and has) cause some damage so it isnt like this was some harmless thing but the people thinking that this will cause the chinese to riot and overthrow Winnie the Pooh are very optimistic, it took Venezuela years of not being able to afford dirt to get things to change and yet a more subservient people will riot over this in a few months time?

Rice is very bad survival food because it requires heat and water to make edible, something that you cant count on to have a ready supply at all times. Any water you have stored is much better for personal consumption than cooking. You are better off getting anything canned since you can eat it straight without any preparation. If you want something dry then get crackers, cookies, wafers and the like. Don't get anything that requires prep time.

A civilian getting any kind of mask seems like a waste of time and money. The virus will always be on you if you are exposed, the virus seems to last quite a bit on places and you will have to remove the mask to eat and drink at the very least. If the Wu flu is on your doorstep it is too late. Unless you have a decontamination room then I don't know how would a mask help in the long run.

I am also not sure if people believe the Wu Flu is some Plague, Inc. disease come to life and we are all hoping the infected doesn't climb higher so the player won't evolve into multiple organ failure and kill everyone infected.

It might be a flu but all flus are serious business.

The mask is to reduce your chance of infection. You can still get it with even a mask if you don't properly disinfect afterwards. Like literally after heading out have a room you designated a disinfection room preferably the garage strip your clothes in there throw in plastic bags rinse your body off with soapy water then enter the house then go take a shower change etc.

It all depends on how long their manufacturing is down, small companies are faster to react than larger ones and Apple (a large company) is already moving production lines out of China.

You don't need "survival food" for a natural disaster you need calories and foodstuffs you will use anyway in case there is panic buying at your local store.

it can also depend on existing conditions. If you have any long term respitory issues like asthma copd etc regular treatable pneumonia can be deadly in of itself. Your doubly fucked if there are no meds to treat the infection or provide some way of making you endure longer.
For people who have asthma copd what you need to acquire asap is a nebulizer and breathing treatment meds.
You can buy one over the counter but it isn't as good as the prescription meds. Call your doctor asap to get a good stock going.
You'll also need Ventolin and any other inhaler.
If all else fails try and find steroid medications and if you still have hot water running sit in the bathroom for an hour or so. I also found that epi pens do work in a pinch but that'll will be a rare find indeed as once the system goes down everyone will be hoarding it. You'll have better luck if you resort to looting for meds finding unused steroids for allergies. Inhalers will be rare.

The machete is the blue collar falchion. It's explicitly designed as a chopping instrument. All you have to do is not fuck up the edge alignment and you're golden. A good machete is worth the investment, both as a tool for yardwork and for self defense.
