Speaking of phil in situations he can't ignore or ban someone posted that video of him losing that buy in best of series in street fighter and had to pay the guy a few hundred it's a great look at how acts in such situations practically throwing the money and then shaking his head getting huffy. If anyone knows what I'm talking about feel free to repost the video because this is the extent of what I remember.
Ok found the highlight it's on page 4704 post 94,076 that's the real Phil reaction to real life looking like a schlubby odd-shaped head having skidmark he really is.

I know it's not even close to a new statement, but Jesus has Phil aged badly in just 10 years.

Seeing that old gif of Phil in combination with the ridiculous amount of retconning by the pigroach lately had me going back into the annals of detractor history to find some of the OG anti-Dave content. Videos like evilaj2010's original TIHYDP's are obviously classic, but there are also videos from that time featuring various people giving their reasons for why they were unsubscribing from Phil, or just generally debunking him

I'm not going to spend my post linking dozens of videos but I would really recommend checking out MrBrockHeinz channel if you're like me and interested in how the hate for Phil originally started and spiraled into what it is today. Some of the predictions and criticisms, despite being almost 7 years old, still ring true to this day:

I know that the mantra is that Phil never changes, but it's still hilarious to me that he has been receiving the same complaints for basically his entire existence. The other thing I wanted to point out is that basically all of the backlash in these early videos have three major sources:

1. Phil's angry ranting in response to the first TIHYDP, calling aj mentally ill and his fans 'fucking idiots' and so on, you know the drill.
2. Phil's mistreatment of Chris, the guy that built him his PC. Many of the people making negative videos at that time (mid 2013) cite DSP's interactions with Chris as their reason for disliking him, and I honestly don't think this whole incident gets brought up enough when discussing Phil's collapse.
3. Dislike of non-DSP additions, i.e. pandalee, aireraidlord. There's videos featuring tons of comments expressing dislike for those two with tons of likes, followed by Phil calling them idiots and trolls (Phil's comments usually got dislike bombed and flagged as spam lmao).

The first thing to notice is that while nobody really began uploading anti-DSP videos until after that first TIHYDP video, nobody hated him because of his MGS2 playthrough. They all hated him because of his terrible reaction to criticism, and to his tendency to insult and mistreat his fans and peers. Phil is either lying (probably the case) or deluded (also probably the case) when he asserts that the detractor community arose because people didn't like the way he played video games. You won't find a video that says "I don't like Phil because he is bad at games" or "I used to like DSP but then he insulted Kojima", like Dave claims. They are pretty much all about exposing deceitful, manipulative, or bullying behavior towards everyone around him and his fans.

I know this is all talked about in circles on these forums every day, and DSP being a scumbag who can't admit responsibility is not news in any regard, but for those who might be newer to DSP lore I thought it would be informative to point out that detracting has a long lasting and stable pedigree. It's easy to point to Phil now, a sad fat sack of shit with nothing to his name but an ugly wife, half a million in debt, a posse of 12-15 exceptional contributors and his pride and sorrow, the WAkhando, and say 'Wow, this guy is a fucking loser, an absolute failure and deserves to be publicly ridiculed'. Early detractor content, however (besides aj's) is mostly just about exposing DSP for being a douchebag. Despite all the contradictory behavior, lying and e-thotting he does now, at least he has the excuse of doing it to make money (even if that money goes to sweaty jpegs). Back then he had money, so he was just a massive dick, and it's really no surprise that someone who was a massive dick failed in the way that he did.

Again, none of this is revolutionary, I just find it interesting how early the narrative for some of these criticisms had started, and while discussing it in retrospect with knowledge of how it all turned out is entertaining, it can also be a lot of fun to see where they came from in the first place.

p.s. There's some videos from 2013 too where DSP is talking about how people are calling him a cult leader in reference to the infamous 1000 people gib $5 comment, I wonder what those people would say to the state of his twitch audience today

Anyone who says put them in a freezer is a fucking idiot who doesn't know what they're talking about either. If you do that they take all day to defrost, and both him and his wife work their asses off full time, so when could he even prepare them?

He's referring to the channel DSPCultLeader which is the first detractor channel I recall ever popping up, was the first one that ever came to my attention at least. Fun fact, many people here believe Phil reads Kiwifarms, but it's always hard to have evidence of that. So here's a tidbit, back in the day I used to post on DSPCultLeader's channel, just to talk to the guy and the like. I later found I was blocked from posting on DSP's TheKingOfHateVLOGs channel, despite never having done so before.

He never blocked me on his main channel, I assume he simply blocked everyone on the account he was currently logged in on, then didn't bother to do it for his main one. Since he's fat and lazy.

Now this is good info. I wouldn't be surprised if that DSP account watching one of Tevin's streams was him. Last 6 months or so, Tev did a stream on Dave's day off and you could @ him in the chat. Looked legit too

Just a sidenote because some of the discussion here made me think of it. Although planetjeff has gone radio silence in terms of putting his name to tips, he still shows up from time to time. There's a couple of names that could be associated with him, but nothing consistent. If he's still giving money, there's a non-zero chance he's doing it entirely off-stream, but that's purely speculative.
