Is it me or does Trump seem unusally tired at this conference going on right now? He's coming across like somone who has pulled an all or double nighter.

Edit: Seriously, Pence is coming at it with the energy I was expecting.

He just finished a big trip to India that included a lot of ceremonies and negotiations. I'm not seeing something to pick at here yet.

Does anyone know the specific law in florida that stops the reporting of potential cases?

‘All information contained in laboratory reports, notifiable disease or condition case reports and in related epidemiological investigatory notes is confidential as provided in Section 381.0031(6), F.S., and will only be released as determined as necessary by the State Health Officer or designee for the protection of the public’s health due to the highly infectious nature of the disease, the potential for further outbreaks, and/or the inability to identify or locate specific persons in contact with the cases.’

Sorry guys but can I ask for advice on calming down?
I lurked on /pol/ conspiracies and now I'm genuinely panicking- even though I know that /pol/ tried to predict HAPPENINGS before and failed. But still I can't keep my mind off them because its the type of person I am (I'm easily bothered by things like hiccups and can't make them go away). I know that there's the part of me left that some soldiers won't suddenly come up to my door and assassinate me because I made edgy jokes, I don't know why I'm freaking out like those gangstalker people now.

p-pls help; I admit I have anxiety problems in the past but flinging my shit over something that won't probably happen will not help anything.
What are calming techniques to keep my mind rational and use common sense; mostly on the freaking out over conspiracy part because my brain is trying to believe that I'm gonna die.
I know its dumb but pls help :stress:

Stop being a Cow.

What would you have them do that they haven't already done? You had the shills at the WHO claiming China had it under control and "It's just a flu for bro". We aren't an authoritarian shithole like China. We don't sequester sick citizens against their will in the USA unless they meet very precise criteria (tuberculosis patients who refuse/can't take their meds and are contagious). Even then we don't hold them incommunicado. China lied to everyone about the severity of the Red Death and now that it's out in the open you'll probably see protocols that haven't been used since smallpox/measles/rubella/scarlet fever were a danger being reviewed and adapted for this (except California where you're expected to get the AIDS, don't be a bigot, Nazi punk, fuck off!).

No matter what Trump does he's screwed; if he allows the states to deal with it he's screamed at from not having a plan, if he declares an emergency and takes action they'll call him a dictator. Wait a few minutes.until the press conference.
In the long run not taking action is going to hurt him more than taking extreme actions early on; He had no good options but picked the worse of the two.

What I think he should have done:
Raise the quarentine times from two weeks to a month; Everything coming in (goods, imports, etc) should be disinfected for 10 days; Close flights from Europe, Asia, and South America; Send in the military if states refuse to enforce federal policies here to virtue signal, invoke FEMA laws or use the prescdent of using the military to desegregate school as justification.

>We aren't an authoritarian shithole like China. We don't sequester sick citizens against their will in the USA unless they meet very precise criteria
This is the exact sort of ideological inflexibility that leads to the mass death that communism is notorious for.

3:56 p.m. Washington Post reports first U.S. coronavirus case of unknown origin:
The Post said that the CDC has informed them that a patient in Northern California is infected with the coronavirus and the source of the infection is unknown. The patient did not travel to a foreign country or have contact with a confirmed case.

Does anyone have any idea if the infected person has had contact with anyone who's been to Travis AFB over the last month? The people delivering supplies into the QZ were unmasked civvies.

In unprecedented move, Israelis advised to avoid all travel abroad over virus

Health Ministry warning sees ‘high probability’ pathogen has now spread worldwide and is no longer containable; Israelis returning from Italy ordered to 14-day quarantine

In a dramatic statement Wednesday, Israel’s Health Ministry urged Israelis to seriously consider refraining from traveling abroad, as the country looked to isolate itself from the novel coronavirus outbreak rapidly spreading across the globe.

“If you don’t genuinely have to fly — don’t do so,” the ministry said in a travel warning.

In making the announcement, Israel became the first country to urge its citizens to refrain from international travel entirely because of the outbreak, which started in China in December and has since infected over 80,000 worldwide and claimed well over 2,000 lives, almost all of them in China.

The move comes after a series of additional countries announced they had identified cases of the virus on their soil over the past two days, including Brazil’s announcement of the first confirmed case in Latin America and uncontained outbreaks in Germany, Italy and other European countries.

Tuesday marked the first day since the start of the outbreak that more new cases were recorded abroad than in China, which has been the epicenter of the epidemic.

The statement also expanded a previous travel warning for northern Italy to the entirety of that country and ordered all Israelis returning from Italy to a 14-day home quarantine, effective immediately.

Israel has already banned the entry of any foreigners who have been to China, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand Singapore, South Korea and Japan in the 14 days prior.

Israeli officials said the new reports of coronavirus cases in Greece, Austria, Switzerland and Croatia, all announced over the past two days, appear to have arrived in those countries from travelers originating in Italy.

Other hotspots have been identified in South Korea and Iran.

“The current assessment is that there is a high probability that the pathogen has spread to additional areas in Europe and in many other places around the world,” the travel warning said.

The Wednesday statement advised the cancellation or delay of all international conferences and gatherings in Israel in the coming months, and to refrain from traveling to such events abroad, where the threat of contagion from multiple countries is higher.

It also urged the avoidance of travel to “events of a religious character at which people from many different nations gather together,” an apparent reference to Hajj, which falls in July.

Israel’s Health Ministry has taken an active approach to combating the spread of the virus here, going far beyond other countries in banning visitors from some countries and forcing Israelis returning from there into self-quarantine.

The ministry has faced some criticism for unnecessarily panicking people and causing economic and diplomatic damage to the country.

Ministry Director General Moshe Bar Siman-Tov told Channel 12 news that the ministry preferred to take harsher measures now than be sorry later.

The Foreign Ministry declined to comment on how the new directives could affect diplomatic work in Israel and abroad.

The Israel Defense Forces did not immediately respond to a question on whether the measures would affect any planned exercises with international partners.

So far, there have only been two confirmed cases in the country — both of whom were on a cruise ship where hundreds were infected and were already in quarantine when diagnosed.

However, over the weekend South Korea informed Israel that several members of a group of pilgrims who returned from a recent visit to the country were found to have the disease. Another four Israelis were being treated in Japan, where they were diagnosed as having the virus while still on the ship. On Tuesday one of the Israelis was given the all-clear to leave the hospital.

On Saturday authorities instructed some 200 Israeli students and teachers to self-quarantine due to their contact with the group of South Korean pilgrims. It is not clear whether the Korean tourists were already infected while in Israel.
