Is that for real? I assumed his "wife" was a marriage of convenience but thought it was likely someone from his church or maybe whoever he was paying to wipe his ass in the toilet. Funny to see him back on the "pro free speech" side of things now though. If Neon Revolt's chat logs aren't fake then he's likely to get popped in the US on federal charges of conspiring with script kiddies to DDoS 8cha--- kun whatever. His lawyer told CNN Philippines he had "advised" him to come back and pay his bail but isn't sure if he will listen.he married a hooker to "save her from the bar life", imagine a life where you do nothing but get wasted every day and sleep in fancy hotels and have heaps of sex.
shocking I know
I want to know who tipped him off though. He has been silent on Twitter for days and then within minutes of the story breaking it seems he was announcing his upcoming podcast appearance. Kind of weird though that he would disappear from Twitter for days and then resurface announcing he's in LA awaiting an interview. I do agree with @fuzakeru na that this is why he has been so desperate to get "journalist" credentials so he can play into the evil Trump and conservatives versus the free press narrative for more pity points.
In the alleged #8chan/Rizon logs he admits to helping out in the attempt to DDoS 8kun. Everybody knew that he was already and he practically hinted about it in the open on Twitter, but if these logs are real they're quite damning.
Also, lol, this:
Nov 05 21:14:22 <copypaste> public opinion doesn't matter to me
Nov 05 21:14:30 <copypaste> especially not channer or kiwifarmer public opinion
That's the reason why any time I saw something mildly lulzy from him I ignored it. He really does crave attention and unless there's some juicy drama it's not worth giving him his fix.
EDIT: added the CNN link, juicy tidbits like:
Brennan has previously said that the case filed was "weak." Though a permanent Philippine resident according to his lawyer, he is currently in the United States.
Brennan's lawyer, Alexander Acain, Jr., told GMA News Online he would recommend for his client to face the case in the Philippines and post bail.
Brennan, who said the case was a "waste of time" for Filipinos, told GMA News Online his legal strategy is to appeal his indictment before the Department of Justice and move for a suspension of court proceedings in the meantime.
It also explicitly says Jim is being investigated for connection to 8chan. Not sure if that is referring to where they had to talk to Congress or if that means the Philippines is investigating Jim.
