FWIW, the shipping container shortage is a real thing, and it's bad. Shipping has been in a downturn for months before the virus hit. The Chinese closed some of their ports, causing a "parking jam" of ships in their coastal waters. International shipping is so fucked, they're running empty vessels just to move things around.

I've been doomsaying about an economic recession for years at this point, worried that it would hit before the election and derail Trump. But in a weird twist, if it's triggered by a Chinese virus and quarantine, that gives him the best "It's not my fault" CYA possible. The economy has appeared to be strong up until now, and if it suddenly falls off a cliff (as it was always going to do, given its structure), it will look sudden enough to give Corona-chan 100% credit.

Not that it would stop idiots like this from twisting their brain stems in knots trying to blame Orange Man.
