Stuff was cleaned up but saw a fucking Asian guy steal the hand sanitizer from the cart section. At 1AM.

Anyway:

Smile at yourself.
Touch a family member (No hitting, no bad touch)
Laugh at least once.

Joke: What's the last thing that goes through a bug's mind when it hits a windshield? Its asshole.
Semper fi, kiwi.

I'm actually starting to get extremely worried that the Government is purposely downplaying it like China to keep the markets from immediately tanking. The CDC is just... quiet while, for example, students in Washington State are told to merely self-isolate for only 5 days after someone infected worked/studied there for the last week.

I also really don't like this, "its already here so there is nothing we can do" mentality; Cities that prepared for the Spanish Flu in 1918 fared better than the cities that were caught flatfooted. Merely closing down church, education, and community events while the virus ravages an area can make all the difference for deaths. From where I am looking the government is really giving the strongest impression they want to maximize potential deaths by doing literally nothing to slow the spread or even prepare people for it.

Downplaying what? Lets all step back from the abyss for a minute and examine what we have as real, observable, non China data. South Korea, even with the creepy death cult has 4000 confirmed cases (and remember most confirmed cases are either those sick enough to be noticed, or those directly linked to someone who is to warrant testing), and 28 deaths. Pretty much the elderly and infirm. Japan while not to those numbers is still seeing similar patterns. Taiwan is lower than both. What we are not seeing in any of these early and observed secondary infection hubs is things like people collapsing in the streets puking blood. Bodies piling up. Government vans with clean suited removal crews hauling off people living and dead. Assuming that the forensic genetic analysis that everyone has been doing on Corona-Chan is valid it points to a start date of mid October. So South Korea, Japan and Taiwan should be roughly 5-6 weeks behind what we observed in Wuhan. And we are there now. The actual numbers observed in fact line up more or less with the "official" Chinese numbers as this progressed. Not with the assumed "everybodies dying" numbers that we have figured to be more likely, since China is China and their response so draconian.

Yes reasonable precautions to shut down some large social gatherings is probably a good idea. But yeah they aren't kidding when they say that it is already here. They've traced the most likely start point of the Washington cases to Mid December. The sniffles your kids had two weeks ago? Might have been it. The biggest thing will be keeping it out of the at risk populations. Nursing Homes, similar places of already compromised patients. Things like that. While it would be nice to keep it out of the schools. That war is probably already lost.

The reason the CDC stopped posting the numbers of people they were testing, just the numbers confirmed, is they have begun Sentinel Testing for it. Which means they are taking broader more random samplings in order to establish a picture of just how far it has spread. Whether they sample and test someone is no longer driven entirely by clinical diagnosis. As such the number of tests performed is no longer linked to "suspected cases".

How to make your own hand sanitizer because someone asked earlier.

2/3 c. rubbing alcohol that is at least 99 percent isopropyl alcohol (some recipes call for cheap vodka, but that’s roughly 40 percent, not strong enough). Cost: $2

1/3 c. aloe vera gel or vegetable glycerin. Cost: $4-$7

Mix well in a clean bowl. Add 10 drops essential oils for nice smell (we recommend lavender because it’s not bad for your skin; some essential oils are not good on skin). Rub a generous amount of the mixture all over your hands, and let it dry.

Total cost: $6-$21

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly said a lower grade of rubbing alcohol could be used. In fact, only 99 percent will do. If you have a lesser type of rubbing alcohol, diminish the amount of aloe or glycerin you use. The balance must be 60 percent alcohol.

Good advice if you have access to rubbing alcohol of at least 99% concentration.

Don’t provide our first responders with masks or nothing, just take entire crews out and quarantine them for 2 weeks. I don’t see anything wrong with that logic!

We’re going to run out of first responders at this rate if the stupidity continues. Why is the CDC not providing guidelines out to emergency operations on how to respond to flu like or respiratory issues calls?

We’re completely unprepared for being a 1st world nation, it’s embarrassing.
No disrespect but the CDC put out guidelines for this at the beginning of January. I am holding the print out that I printed out in January in my hand.

The information has been available. The public was warned and asked to look into it. Anything past that is the public's own ignorance.

As much as I want to blame the government, the fact of the matter is that most people are lazy.

:story: :story: :story:

You've GOT to be shitting me. WHO is as useless as tits on a boar. They need to put their energies and brains toward treatments and a vaccine.

Update ADV China. Tittle: Lies!!! Wuhan Virus is not defeated!
This is currently live. And this video is choppy. 3/02/2020

My Take:
The Shit monkeys are claiming victory by reclaiming and changing numbers.

ADDED: ADVChina Title: Victory over Wuhan Virus 8:52 Minutes 3/02/2020

The one from the CCP has been removed. Thanks for posting the YT links!

Then it’s down to stupidity on the part of our 1st responders and lack of preparedness and training. I hope we will learn from this pandemic and things change.

I've seen so many videos of hospital managers wearing masks but leaving their nose uncovered. That lady in the UK was only the latest.

The biggest concern I have taken out of this specific incident is how far ahead of the curve the fucking Kiwi Farms thread has been compared to the American CDC and the UN and a host of other "authoritative" bodies. Why are we consistently right and ahead of the curve every time? Why are we left to ponder and gasp at poor government prep?

And let's just say it out front. It really hurts when you see US Government personnel making basic mistakes. If the US government can't do it, how can you expect ANY other government to do it right? USA is supposed to be the gold standard and even they are making elementary mistakes.

Ever hear the phrase "good enough for government work"?

>tfw the two Florida cases are an hour away from my uni
I'm somewhat concerned (but not panicked) that closings will put a damper on my final semester and commencement- I'm really giving it my all, and the last thing I need is Corona-chan the party girl taking a campus tour.

Automotive shops are pretty good places to grab large amounts of strong solvents quickly. Careful though, they can be pretty damn strong. Lacquer thinner will kill everything microbial like death's own scythe. Just make sure you run your hands under clean water afterwards.

Because we're an alt-right Nazi hate site that worries more about contracting and distributing a deadly slow acting virus than how emotionally bad and isolated people feel for having it. After all, if you don't willfully get HIV, you are a bigot.

Shit continues to hit the fan in Iran. A few tweets that stuck out:

Wuhan-esque corpse video, reportedly from Qom hospital, shows at least 50 body bags by my count. Official Iran death toll is 66 currently.
I don't know how to archive video on this gay tablet, apologies

This Ali guy seems like one to watch for daily Iran updates. Here's his thread for today:
Archive Archive2
  • Deaths of high-ranking officials appear to have prompted the regime to take the wuflu more seriously
  • People continue to collapse in the streets, including at least one soldier who collapsed
  • Rumors that wuflu is in military barracks and prisons
  • Talk of turning stadiums into hospitals
  • Video showing what appears to be a hast burial site. At least these people got caskets and headstones. No hazmat suits tho. Harry Chen had a video on a similarly hasty burial with the suits minus the caskets and other accoutrements.
  • Rumors that young, healthy people die too
  • WHO finally sees fit to arrive, brings some PPE and testing kits

Hard to get confirmation on any of this and I don't speak Farsi but these do appear current. People are masked up and you can make out references to 'Corona' in the chatter.

I really don't want to see people collapsing on the streets of America. I hope our government can pull its shit together better than China and fucking Iran.

Just to prep people ahead of time. At least one or two people are probably going to avoid doctors and treatment long enough to be caught on video passing out on an American street.

Don't freak the fuck out when this happens. We are the third most-populous nation on Earth. It's going to happen.

Maybe it's a silly question but how exactly do places like the CDC find out if a virus mutated?

Honestly the only passing out I've seen on videos are bums in places like San Francisco who OD'd on drugs. That's in the last few weeks. I usually think it's related to something like that. It may not be illnesses.

indeed comrade, we must keep our tradition of poor health and physical unfitness confined to our local walmarts. we must keep our sharts and carts in the frozen aisles of freedom and the potato chip pastures of diversity, not in the socialistic outdoors of public space

I've been leafing through a book I got at a thrift store a few months ago. The Crash Course by Chris Martenson. If you were into the whole prepper milieu during the Great Recession, you'll likely remember this guy. He was a hotshot New York stockbroker until the double whammy of the dot.com crash and 9/11 whacked him with a fucking huge clue-by-four.

He started researching stuff that the deep state/globalist elite really doesn't want people to look at too closely, and I don't mean David Icke's reptilian overlord sperging, shit like the sustainability of the interlocking systems that make civilization possible. What he found made him so fucking terrified that he sold all his shit and moved his family to a cowtip area of rural Massachusetts to live off the land.

Eventually, he produced a series of videos about what he learned-just in time for the September 2008 freakout. His basic idea is that literally ALL of the systems that support our civilization are at their breaking point, and any one little thing could tip the entire truckload into the abyss. The cool thing about his material is that it has almost zilch of the panic-button horseshit that was so common in the prep community at the time.

++++++++++++++

So, here's my idea: Wu Flu is the Big One, the last straw that starts the cascade of failures that fucks over civilization. Here's how it works: The disease passes over with relatively little damage, or so it seems. Yes, Wuhan is blocked off and abandoned, a Chinese Pripyat, but other than that it seems as if the skeptics were right again.

And then the supply chain problems start up. The supply of durable goods is off and on, you can never know when or what will be available. People start buying older stuff and rehabbing it. There's lots of fluff shit online about the "Cubanization of America", tongue in cheek for the most part, a look at the weirdos thing.

Now it's the (really fucking HOT) summer of 2023, and everybody is bitching about the power grid. The juice seems to go off and on for really no discernible reason. Then the disease hits. It starts in Los Angeles, among the homeless on skid row. Before the CDC can react, the plague is tearing across the West Coast. The lucky ones got out before the Quarantines, where the main access routes to the big urban areas were blocked off by the Army and the Internet Kill Switch activated, shutting down internet access. But the ones who got out carried the plague with them. Fortunately, it wasn't too bad in much of the rest of North America, although in the end we lost much of the LA Basin. Several other cities in China were fucked too.

Then the real fun starts up. The food supply goes the way of the durable goods supply. For the first time, Americans and Europeans and Asians don't know if there will be any food in the stores when they go, whether the power will be on in the morning, whether there will be any gas at the gas stations on a given day. In 2024 Americans elect the head of the Democratic Socialist Party, and the far left wins in a lot of other places too.

Now it's 2028 and much of the once-developed world is under strict and draconian rationing. The world's cities are blocked off, turning into giant gulags. The lucky ones who established themselves in the rural areas before the Corraling at least have food to eat and water to drink. The ones in the cities are literally dropping dead of starvation, exacerbated by the waves of bizarre plagues that sweep through every so often. Bodies rot in the streets, although as time goes on nobody is gonna pass up a good source of meat.

There wasn't an election in what was once America in 2028. The guy who won four years earlier is now the Supreme Citizen, not that it matters since government has largely given way to militias and gangs. America and China are basically what Venezuela is today. Europe is a jigsaw puzzle of caliphates and emirates and Islamic "republics". An aging Vladimir Putin is desperately trying to hold Russia together.

By 2040, there are 200 million humans. Civilization has entered a new Dark Age. A few people have solar panels and small wind turbines. Most everybody else cooks outside, with wood. Humanity's cities are dead, peopled only by skeletons.

++++++++++++++++

Maybe I'm wrong on the timing-it may be longer. But I think that this Wu Flu could really be the first failure point of human civilization. The growth in human population since 1946, when graphed, almost exactly follows the graph of any population explosion in nature-it climbs until it goes straight up, then suddenly falls straight down to near zero. We're at the very top right now.
