That would be the smart thing to do against a surging radical element within your own party. Engineer a McGovern 2.0 by disingenuously endorsing the extremists in an election you are bound to lose anyway, so you can take the wind out of their sails and have a reasonable excuse to reassert establishment authority and ideology.
However, as I just said, that would be the smart thing to do, so expect the DNC to do the exact opposite. They'll be kicking and screaming all the way to the ballot box come November if Bernie secures the nomination, and I can honestly see them try to actively sabotage Sanders even as he's squaring off against Trump. And if he loses, they won't have fixed a single goddamn thing in their party. Rather than being humbled and accepting the primacy of the bigwigs, the Hard Left will point to their blatant treachery as the reason for Bernie's defeat, regardless of how effective all that skullduggery actually was. And who can fucking blame them.

Its pretty amazing looking at the whole strategy of the DNC this entire election. They really tricked the berniebros. the DNC knew they couldn't just do a two way race like they did since after Clinton got elected, Bernie and his base would be ready for that, so instead they let everyone try out, hence the clown car, by letting everyone shoot their shot they overwhelm the defenses sort of like how you would overwhelm a ship's missle defenses. And at essentially the last second they let it drop down to just biden so that all the voters will have to chose between classic or socialist.
And you could tell by the way the DNC primary calendar was planned out that this was essentially the plan from the start, they knew Bernie's weakness with blacks and Biden's strength with them, so from South Carolina in February, until Kansas in May, every primary contest has at least one heavily black state which will basically fuck over any shot of momentum or spin Bernie could have until after 90% of delegates have been decided.
plus by having so many candidates on stage, they could effectively hide Biden much easier than they could Hillary, instead of having almost no debates with the star being attacked for 2 hours straight by the socialist, instead there were so many debates people were sick of them, and Biden essentially hid among the others, only getting 15 minutes of speaking time meaning his fuck ups weren't as pronounced as they would have been with everyone's eyes on him.
But the way the DNC essentially sprung the trap and destroyed Bernie outright was amazing, And the way things were set up. I guarantee you most of the "contestants" didn't realize they were part of the plan, until the end. I'd be surprised if Bloomberg knew, but he was a good patsy, one of the richest men in the world trying to play savior with his neo-liberal ways. That's catnip on crack for Bernie. Warren and Bernie were too focused on Bloomberg to even pay attention to the front-runner Biden, Biden was basically given the free pass hilary was, just under more concealment.
Plus Warren taking votes from Bernie in super tuesday. and Pete as essentially the DNC's hitman, doing all the attacking and taking all the fights that Biden should have been doing. Biden essentially got to play the nice guy in a clown car full of belligerent assholes. And the DNC through the careful placement of the calendar and a few candidates on the inside basically proved to Bernie why you should be a part of a fucking political party.
TL;DR It was rigged from the start. they made the calendar dogshit for bernie and great for biden, and had warren run against him, put a billionaire (or two) up for the socialists to focus their rage on and had a young upstart playing heel to force the attention off of the golden boy.

So. I was just in the Corona Virus thread, getting updates and whatnot. In the past few days alone, there has been quite a spike in the virus spreading to different states (and those States declaring emergencies), and the death toll is at 7% so far (which are undeniably bad numbers for a virus, especially in a Western, developed nation).
I have a feeling this will definitely affect the election in many ways. Not just the election, but how the candidates actually campaign.
It is going to be interesting to see what happens with how the candidates will handle campaigning within these next few weeks and months. The Democrat Primary is already a shit show ... It could somehow get even more messy for the candidates.

I'm still a little surprised they're trying to ratfuck Bernie as Bernie vs Biden (and then whatever else), I was thinking they'd go simple and keep a billion people running so Bernie couldn't get a clear majority then fuck him over at the convention.

the Democrats want to save the candidates people want for 2024, when they only have to compete against whatever husk of a party the GOP becomes when Trump's family leaves/when they only have to compete against Princess Ivanka. Donald Trump is too good at helping them get fundraising money. the Dems, just like everyone else know outside of a 3rd party situation or other bizarre shit like that; the incumbent always wins.
This was about making sure Bernie couldn't pull the run out from under them. plus they could try out people/traits and how the american people would react towards them. i'm sure they're proud copying Obama's speech patterns outweighed being a blatant rat and faggot. plus the way people are talking, come 2024 there is no way in hell Iowa or NH gets to have their special moment in the sun. the contested convention was always the back up plan, that was the worst case scenario, remember, the Dems want a popular vote presidential election where CA and NY decide everything, so a test run of CA and TX deciding the primary will be needed, and the results seem to be that either they need to essentially king someone ahead of time, or it ends up a contested convention/there isn't enough breathing room for candidates to decided to drop out on their own. I'm sure the Dems remember the "corrupt bargain" accusation when no one hit the winning number in a presidential election so long ago and would rather not have a president chosen by Speaker of the House Scalise in 2032, on the off chance the GOP manages to get a majority ever again.
also they wanted to see how/if they could fuck with the polls. They still legitimately believe the Russia hacked the elections story and want to genuinely see if they could fuck up their own polls/data analysts predictions. I'm sure 538 and everyone else assumed a contested convention because they ran the numbers with 7 people running in everything. by the end of this, only 4% of delegates went to someone not named Biden or Bernie. if Biden can't get essentially more than 54% of delegates they have much bigger problems/they genuinely want to know if maybe they will need to pander more to the berniebros in the future or if their party really is as fractured as the socialists claim it is

I think it's just the meme at this point. Compared to 2016, Bernie isn't even close to getting ratfucked. Look at how Tulsi's getting shafted this cycle and Bernie fans will remember what a ratfucking looks like. They aren't blithely changing rules to keep him out of the debates this time around. He's no longer the one operating under a near-total media blackout.

It's impossible to know, but it'd be very interesting to see how different things would of been had Iowa not been completely fucked up, and instead of a nobody glow in the dark mayor just barely having the lead(even at times with less votes), and getting all the press for winning. It's conspiratorial thinking I know, but lets say the Iowa caucus debacle was to fuck Bernie, had Iowa been a strong victory for him, followed by Nevada, and the press covered it with out bias, he may have gone into Super Tuesday with a lot of momentum that could of closed the gaps, or widened some of his victories.

The momentum kill that hurt him on Super Tuesday was South Carolina though, not Iowa. Bernie was never going to do well with southern black voters. What's really hurting his campaign, and hurt him in 2016 as well, is his insistence on galvanizing the youth vote for a revolution. Kids don't vote and old people with families and responsibilities don't want a revolution. This isn't rocket surgery. These are known quantities that Bernie and his campaign seem to be specifically ignoring. This go around he isn't even getting the youth vote numbers he did back in 2016. All the collective Trump REEEing in the media seems to have hurt him because people are looking to the more moderate Democrat they're used to as the best means to defeat Trump. And that of course is a narrative being pushed by the MSM because their handlers don't want him. Bernie just seems too stubborn to win to me. It's like he's still that lazy idealist getting kicked out hippie communes for not doing the work. He wants everything on his terms.
