Supposedly being arrested and spending time in jail made him want to go into law, and he was also introduced to Taylor in jail by his sister.

He wasn't interested in going on his mission, but his parents threatened to not pay for his college if he refused to go on the mission.

That's an incredible way to discover your favorite artist. I don't think many people get into Taylor Swift's music while they're in jail.

Will anything said in court be open to public record or will that be kept private too?

If the court is open I doubt there's anything stopping someone from reporting on it. The barrier is that instead of a bunch of autists looking stuff up online you need a turbo-autist to be nearby and take time out of their day to physically go (which I very much hope for). Expect the same rules as usual... probably no audio or visual recording, notepad only. Although I believe someone may have been a sneaky squirrel and recorded some of a previous hearing for the purposes of writing or checking her notes.
