Basically in my personal life there are a lot of people in the danger zone for this virus (both in terms of location, age, and health) for instance my step-dad is taking care of my already quite ill mother and I have a strong feeling it will only be a few more months before my grandparents kick the bucket.

With that in mind; my inability to overcome my anxiety when trying to contact family members especially ones that ive gotten in fights with in the past, is now an even bigger obstacle than usual. So i'm looking for ways you all overcome anxiety and nervousness especially when you have to talk to people about very sensitive issues. Like "will i ever see my mother alive again?" And "will you let me go to the funeral?" and "why did you put my dad in the hospital?"

Anyways any comments you have are welcome and hopefully this thread will help others who also have this anxiety when it comes to this stuff

Smoke meth
Last time i tried that he called the cops on me. And the time after that her co workers did the same thing. It was Mother's birthday and i brought her flowers.

Suck it up and call them anyway.

I'm planning on it. The problem is how hard it is for me to talk with all this anxiety

Write down what you want to say on a piece of paper. Have a game plan.

Also stop powerlevelling

What I always did was just pictured myself as a character from some TV show or movie I watched recently, and sort of just acted as though I was playing their role - whatever came the most natural to the situation at hand. Once you get the conversation going, you'll loosen up and get more comfortable talking to them. Everybody mimics someone, consciously or not. If you need to ask questions, try listening to a podcaster you like doing an interview with someone, and pay attention to their cadence and approaches to how they ask questions. Or maybe watch a detective show if you're a fan of any. Something along those lines. It'll help you get into the right mindset to ask questions and keep your shit together.

Don't be a bitch.

Seriously. I used to suffer from anxiety about this. Just relax. Don't think about what yo say, just be human. It'll go a long way.

What if im a shitty human? Again i don't suffer this way when it comes to talking to random people on the street or at the bar, its only after already having a bad reputation with someone. Plus its hard to do it on the phone because of how easy it is to just get hung up on.

Just ignore it and treat them nicely like you (or they)'ve done nothing wrong, and apologize for whatever if they call you on something. Everyone likes a pleasant conversation, even if it's with someone who clearly doesn't like you.

That advice sounds silly, but i trust you because of you being a dick show fan.

You are an idiot. Just amplify your hatred of every other living person and express your contempt for everyone with every word you utter.

You fucking pussy.
