None of this is surprising. He weaponizes his followers, uses "non-binary" to bully people and is okay with people getting assaulted that have a different opinion. He's not as big as he thinks he is because most people do not care, let alone he exists. Sure he showed up at VGAs awards and made an ass out of himself but everyone forgot about it, as they do with everyone within two weeks.

Here's my whole take on this: SonicFox is better at attention seeking than he is at gaming.

SonicFox normally would have been an average esports gamer who won a few tournaments and then faded into obscurity in the future once he was no longer good at video games. But SonicFox does do one thing that a lot of those other esports athletes do and that is building up a very specific brand. SonicFox has one gimmick which is "I'm a gay nonbinary black furry vote for this guy" but he manages to really take the gimmick to the logical extreme. He's worn a trans flag to a fighting game event, and he's played video games with his animal costume head on. He has gaming journalists and twitter troons/enbies starfucking him whenever he wins a game/shows up at a furcon, and he has detractors who sit back as the jokes write themselves. He then plays the good old "haters make me famous" card while namesearching and finding tweets saying "haha this guy is a faggot" or people seething at him as seen on earlier pages of this thread. When he is no longer good at video games he can still fall back on hanging out with troon furries.

SonicFox craves the spotlight and he is damn good at getting it. The fact he namesearches himself is hard proof of this. He has a blue tick and plenty of troon furry followers who will raid anyone he quote tweets.

It's not that hard to farm attention on Twitter and "gaming journalists" because they're all crazy loons that sit on Twitter all day, talking about how the elderly should just die already for having different opinions

It's more than just that too. SonicFox also gets attention from furries because he's to furries what imageboard users would call /ourguy/. He's a furry who is both huge in the furry scene and outside it as well. He's one of the few furries who has a blue checkmark on Twitter. His popularity grew from "wtf why is a furry in this" when his fursona was used in promo material to exploding when he wore a fursuit to tournaments. During this time he was also a regular at the furcon circuit, showing up at furry cons in their game rooms as furries crowded around him.

Eventually like a lot of other furries as he got popular he took an openly political turn and furries loved this because he was their spokesperson. The tipping point was his "I'm what Republicans hate" speech at The Game Awards 2018 in which the internet saw him as yet another punchline at a gaming event that featured anti-vaping ads and non-gaming content everywhere. But here was their favorite based e-celeb on a stream tons of people were watching, and this ended up in multiple "condensed" versions of the stream. While being gay as a personality falls flat to those outside Twitter, he's signaling to a very specific demographic with speeches and stunts like that and within that group it works.

I definitely agree that it can be like this with people who gets unreasonably angry about being misgendered, losing their shit on you for "daring" to misgender them, but there are certainly the more reasonable people who will just calmly tell you their preferences if you happen to be wrong about them.
Whether or not you think that's worth taking seriously is your business, but I wouldn't say all NB are just spurging for attention.
Sonic, on the other hand... very clearly uses it for attention. It's pretty obnoxious,
even as someone who doesn't really have all that much of a problem with trans people in general.

Sonicfox is in the most volatile groups imaginable, groups where one fuckup is the last straw. If he ever dares to grow past his angsty "20-something year old that acts like a preteen" phase, he'll be torn apart. Maybe an exit is what he's looking for after going so deep into the sludge, or it could be he really is this shallow. Either way, he's gonna make a huge mess of himself when the ego bubble bursts, seeing as he doesn't know how to handle criticism or controversy.

Wasn't there a big scandal as far as esports go (it's either CS:GO or LoL) where a shit ton of the pro-players were caught abusing the shit out of adderall so they could sustain their 18 hour training days that team management pushed on em?
