Ironically, rainbows being queer related is a relatively new idea. Rainbows were neutrally thought of as symbols of peace and hope for centuries before it was adopted by the LGBT community. Even rainbow flags were used by other non queer countries and societies for a long while.

I can't wait to see someone call out the rainbow flag for being cultural appropriation and offensive to the indigenous Andeans considering it's an ancient religious and cultural symbol there.
