If racism now means racism = power/privilege, is it racist to criticize Obama since he was the most powerful person in the country? I had a black guy come in my job (I work at a gas station for context) and he just went into a whole racist rant about trump and how this is Obama's economy that's happening now and not trump and all kinds of shit. It made me start thinking about it all critically.
My state overwhelmingly voted for Biden (SC) and Jim Clyburn endorsed him as well. In my opinion, this is the exact same shit that most of them bitch about. I've heard time and time again that "oh, not all of us vote the damn same" and all this bullshit about we arent sheep but then these people turn the corner and start just dogging out Trump and the current administration because of reasons. "This is Obama's economy" over 10 years ago but if you dare ask "well if it's his economy that's booming, why did he wait 10 years for it to hit? Where was it when I needed it back then?" then they will screech like monkeys. It's like I saw someone on here say, and subsequently the boondocks episode "it's a black president, huey Freeman " we should not have had a black president because we were not ready for it. This isn't even a post racial society much less a tolerant one. Theres more racism than there was back in the mid 2000s. I never understood just exactly what makes Obama so different than the other presidents we've had other than his race obviously. I just don't get it.
If this sounds all over the place forgive me. I'm all over the place with my thoughts on what's going on in current year.
