With Seattle's case, how many of those young people vape? Vaping can be bad for lungs and it is common among young people in America. It wouldn't surprise me to see if there is more young cases in the US due to that.

(it is, but it still impairs breathing and lung function) When I conduct interviews with them a lot of them say no about smoking or similar activities unless you specify vaping/smoking marijuana in there too.

Does obesity impact the outcome of this? A lot of Americans are not only overweight, but obese, so wondering if that can be why we may see more younger people than in other parts of the world.

Took a look around during the morning walk.

Traffic on the freeway 50-70% of normal, likely primarily due to the schools being closed. Local K-12 district was to be closed this week for spring break anyway.

Went to nearby 7-11 to see if they had milk. They did. Thought about going to the commissary to see how things were but believe I'll just go on the regular Saturday trip. Am guessing there will be a new guest policy in place, item limits, or both by then. Don't expect to see what I saw Saturday. Garrison (base) commanders, and senior officers in general view such animalistic behavior very dimly and normally ensure it isn't repeated. Wouldn't be allowed on my watch, that's for sure.

No shelter-in-place here as yet. Doubt it will affect me personally. After the morning walk, am usually inside all day anyway due to allergies. About the only places I go are to the commissary, Costco, and medical appointments.

Hmmm...looking at the YT feed, USA is up to 5709 cases - for a nation of 335 million. China's numbers have hardly changed at all, but they're lying.

See, Crazy Uncle Johnny took a few TBI's working for Uncle Sugar when he was younger. Now, this particular employer of mine, who goes by the initials DOD and DOA, selected Johnny for a few tests a few times.

One of which was a fucking vaccine.

Now, back in the day, Uncle Johnny was a tough motherfucker. A fucking street machine with a bloody grin, if you know what I mean. I was goddamn invincible.

I got told I could dodge an Article-15 if I "volunteered" for special duty. My number got picked and I was told to show up, sign these forms or else, and go get my new vaccine. I was told that 20% of us would only be getting a placebo. Welp, despite hunting all over post for a virgin, I wasn't able to sacrifice one and I didn't end up in the 20% bracket.

I got fucking sick. We're not talking Influenza sick, or fucking measles sick, radiation poisoning, or fucking malaria sick, I've been those sick.

We're talking SICK. My bones felt like they made out of glass, my fucking bone marrow ached and burned. My skin felt like it was peeling off and cracking. I couldn't get enough to drink or eat but so much as cracker dust left me spewing chunky liquid and foam from both ends that contained stuff I didn't remember eating. Then I got the fever. Holy shit. My brain started to fucking cook and I went to the ER with a fever high enough one of the medic girls in the barracks thought I was going to die and drug me into a cold shower while we were waiting for the ambulance. Unfortunately for the ER docs at the medical center, Uncle Johnny liked to lift iron plates in his spare time and liked to fight with other exceptional individuals for fun.

That fucking vaccine fucked me up. I mean, fucked me up hard. I was a tough motherfucker, one of those hyperactive bastards who tear through sickness in like no time with an immune system built for fucking speed that you can only get growing up in a 1970's trailer park and playing in the nearby junkyard till you were 10 to avoid your anti-vax hippy parents, but this shit fucked me up so bad it took me nearly two months to recover, to the point that the unit I was in put me on a desk job. I'd wake up with the shakes worse than when I tried to quit drinking after 2 years trying to drown myself in German booze and pussy. I'd lose my balance and fall down. I lost sixty fucking pounds. I couldn't keep half the food I ate down and would randomly puke it up. I'd go fucking randomly deaf in one ear.

Was it all for the common good?

Nope. The vaccine trials turned out to be a fucking failure, but they didn't find out until after the human trials. It was promising in animals. The first diluted tests works and showed no harm done. But the actual full strength vaccine?

I literally wished I was fucking dead. And I'd been scraped up with a spatula twice.

I was the only motherfucker in that control group of full strength vaccine that stayed in service.

How bad was it? The VA gave me rating just because I was given it. Not a big one, but for the VA to give some dipshit like me any rating? Yeah, they gave it to me without even arguing, just went "Oh shit, here, have some percentage, my dude!". They gave me a higher rating for that fucking vaccine then they did the TBI that wiped out some of my fucking memories.

Until the first wave of fucking tests go through and the first wave of civilians and civilian political leaders get it, I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Not all of us, PP. Just the idiots in the state capital, Sacramento, and those in charge in the coastal counties.

There are really two Californias. You have the coastal counties, mostly heavily populated. Can also be known as the world's largest open-air insane asylum. Get in from the coast and as a rule, things turn rather more conservative, except for Sacramento. Unfortunately, coastal crazies' votes tend to ensure a lot of overly liberal people get elected to state offices, as well as the US Senate.

Most of us in the coastal counties who are normal try to live our lives without reference to the crazy shit that comes out of Sacramento and the various county seats/cities/towns.
