"Paycheck to paycheck" is how most every freelancer whose product is easily replaceable lives. Did you guys think he was salaried at the Escapist? They're probably paying him peanuts on a per-vid, or worse, per-click basis. Especially now that Bob's benefactors like Russ Pitts/Susan Arendt were chased off the website. The only contributor with a chance of being paid well there is Yahtzee, since he's their entire fucking website.

That last fact has led to some hilarious comment chains under most every Escapist video on Youtube where subscribers beg them to please split Bob off into his own channel, because they're sick of it cluttering up the feed for the rest of the site.

He is just a free-lancer glorified to the status of a "feature" of the escapist, a carry-over from the Russ Pitts time. He most likely jumped at the position he was back in for any amount of money, because at the time he was high banking on patreon (about 4.5K), he had nothing else going on and Robert is obssessed about his status as a "professional industry critic" that the Escapist gives the validation his ego needs badly.

While he's still making far more than he deserves for the shit he puts out, by every metric, Bobby's on the downswing.

From his peak in July 2018, he's down over $1200 a month on Patreon, almost 500 fewer people donating to him too. He's been losing Twitter followers since January, not at a very rapid pace, but considering his Twitter addiction, he's got to be hurting. His Youtube subs have been on a decline since July of last year, but he really started sliding in January, losing 3k subs in only three months. As mentioned before, his videos get barely any views, either on his own channel or the Escapist's. All those Big Picture "classic" episodes he's been reuploading to his channel don't even break 10k views, and none of his videos on the Escapist's channel have broken 50k since Sanic and Birds of Prey, and those only barely got over that threshold.

For all his harping on about evolving and Superior Future™ and the rest of the verbal diarrhea he spews on a daily basis, looks to me like Robert's getting left behind. Couldn't happen to a more insufferable faggot.

going through there list of current video series they have besides the above mentioned two we have

• UnderDeveloped: Guy who created it showed up a few pages ago defending Bob, Escapist youtube channel actually announced that his series got put on "hiatus" a few days ago while he works on something else.
• 3 Minuet reviews: just seems to be what it says on the tin handled by a few different people related to the magazine.
• The Joy of Gaming: some guy called Nate Najda talks about games he likes. Haven't seen any of videos so don't know if its cut from the same cloth as Bobs work or not. Tried running his name through the KF search tools to see if anyone has talked about him and all I could find is a decent number of posts in the NeoGAF & ResetERA thread from 2017 but I haven't been around long enough to know the context behind them.

I think Bob's too irrelevant to cancel. Most of the rest of the indie hipster clique ignores him after he got fired from the Escapist the first time, and the only people who cared enough about him to give him a platform post-firing he's either burned bridges with (such as Devin Faraci of Birth.Movies.Death, by making his one and only submission post-firing a tantrum about GamerGate, and Geek.com hasn't been hosting his videos in almost a year), or they all but left the industry after crossing Zoe Quinn, as is the case with Susan Arendt and her husband, Russ Pitts. His username mentions on twitter seem mostly split between dirtbag left teenage boys praising him and anime avatars/anonymous accounts mocking him. He doesn't have anything to motivate a canceling beyond being cringe. He isn't famous/rich enough for the one who canceled him to benefit from it, nor does he have the influence for anyone to think he's enough of a menace that he must be canceled for the public good.

We probably care about Bob the most, which is really sad for him lol.
