Reno 911! Returning on Some Streaming Service You've Never Heard Of - The fuck is a Quibi?

This is like bringing back Arrested Development purely for fan service. It's just not as good. My favorite character Andrew ended up winning an Oscar later in life.

I'm getting echoes of Trailer Park Boys as well. Jones is fat, Jim looks old, Weigel's hair is obviously dyed. I don't blame them. They're just actors happy to be working, but I'm not going to watch it.

And three of the characters (Garcia, Johnson, Kimball) are supposed to be dead.

My guess is that they're going to retcon the last season from the Comedy Central run.

Call me optimistic, but I actually think this reboot has some potential since it's not being dredged up by Comedy Central or some big company like Netflix and it seems to have the same writers of the old classic seasons. I think the best course of action is to just wait and see.

I'm not going to sign up and pay money for a new streaming service just yet, but I'm also not going to dismiss this out of hand either.

Plus Comedy Central is kind of a dying network right now.

I love this show. The movie was funny as hell too.
r.i.p. The Condor... Sorry you were late to the barbecue.
also... the thing was a thing...

I thought you were being hyperbolic but, no, I have never heard of that service at all.

Looking into it, it seems to be some sort of Jeff Katzenberg project. These shows are... something else...

-Chrissy's Court: a Judge Judy rip-off starring alleged "television personality and model Chrissy Teigen and her mother, Vilailuck 'Pepper Thai' Teigen. Chrissy's Court shows Chrissy Teigen reigns supreme as the 'judge' over one small claims case. The plaintiffs, defendants, and disputes are real, as Chrissy's mom turned "bailiff", Pepper Thai, maintains order in the courtroom." Holy shit this sounds so bad.

-Kill the Efrons where Zac and whoever the fuck the other Efron is pretend they are Bear Grylls... but probably won't die, because that I'd pay for!

Oh man, they say they're gonna throw away a billion dollars on original programming in their first year! Is this a money laundering scheme or something? Future business loss tax writeoffs?

The streaming market is getting way too saturated, you better bring some bigger shit than rebooting forgotten shows with no lasting value like Punk'd.

Sounds like the same kind of scam "The Producers" ran.

I have a feeling it will just be "Flyover people bad". You can probably make funny material that is more up to date:
* Mandatory lessons about pronouns.
* The cops flashbanging a guy's kids and murdering his dog because he has a gun from the civil war.
* Beating a person up because he called another person a faggot.

only cartoons work well in a <10 minutes format

It started out as a sketch.

Big fan of the show excluding that final season which was done purely so they could hit a certain episode limit for syndication purposes. The movie was pretty good. But this isn't enough to make me subscribe to another streaming service.

This was not a show that I expected to get a reboot considering some of the humor of the older seasons would set off the PC crowd these days. I'm gonna take the wait and see option as well before I make any judgments but holy shit Jones is so fat
