All communist kahiits in this thread should be quarantined for spreading the wuflu
By order of the jarl

I remember reading somewhere that Japan tracked everyone's phones and sent SMS to people that have been to infected areas to self-quarantine. Everybody else gets a different SMS clearing them. They then show this message to train stations so they could ride.
China does this too, but much more extensively.

Records of people's movements are also kept in the West, but there they only use it for important things, like delivering targeted Google ads.

I have a weird question and this might be the only place to get someone who actually understands the underlying reasoning for the answers.

We're experiencing shortages of masks, as is every other country on the planet. Yes, 3M type respirators are meant to be one-time use disposable, because

1. The rules were written for any sort of situation where they may be used, not specifically for coronavirus
2. When there's plenty of masks there's no problem with tossing them each time you go outside and then back indoors, even if it's 5 minutes of exposure.

Because coronavirus is a virus, not a bacteria, and it cannot survive in high-heat dry environments, is it theoretically possible to reuse N95 respirators after potential exposure to corona-infected aerosol mist if you place the mask in a high heat, dry environment for enough time? For example, you have a stockpile of 10-15 masks and you rotate them, with used ones being placed on, for example, a hot radiator or heating unit, where the temperatures are constantly ~50 degrees C? Or maybe even a regular oven set to the lowest heat possible, like ~100 C or so. Obviously the masks will still be treated with care, hands washed before and after putting them on, etc.

Could this be a solution for people who have a limited supply of masks?
Have 7 masks on rotation.
Spray those cleaning spray things and leave them there for several days.
Also make sure there's airflow.

Also the virus has this protective layer bubble that can be burst when cleaning, so a good rub in soapy water does wonders. When the protective layer is gone, the virus dies when exposed to soap water.

I also have a PDF on how to turn disposable masks into sub-par N95/P2 masks. I'll translate it and upload. Theoretically, one can make masks at home and then use the guide to turn it into an alright mask that does 95% of what an N95 one is intended to do.

I honestly think myself and many others, besides sometimes sperging, have been helping to inform people more so than the shitbags on MSM television. Waiting for 7News and ABC HQ to become Coronachan's death camp.

Does it mean, that UK wins the negotiation by default and gets everything it asked for? Right?

Barnier is a skilled negotiator, an opponent of Brexit and a dedicated servant of EU. Having him out of the picture means the EU needs to send someone else, who might well decide on a Canada+ deal without the UK having to accept EU rules, which is what the UK wants. Barnier might have left the UK trapped following EU rules it has no say over, like Switzerland or Norway. Which is what the EU wants, to discourage other escape attempts.

I reckon the UK is going to end up with either a Canada+ deal with no alignment or WTO rules regardless of whether Barnier is in charge though.

Based, thanks for the info. Will look into this further, glad I'm not the only one thinking about re-use of "disposable" masks.

调查组的工作建议是:由于中南路派出所出具训诫书不当,执法程序不规范,调查组已建议湖北省武汉市监察机关对此事进行监督纠正,督促公安机关撤销训诫书并追究有关人员责任,及时向社会公布处理结果。

Chinese state/central government is asking the officials of Wuhan to identify and prosecute the police officers that were involved in the arrest of Li Wenliang and others. They also want a report being released to the public. I'll translate it when it's out.

I am very unhappy with the handling. So yeah the police arrested Li and several others for "spreading rumours" when all they did was test a virus. Alright, who enabled it? The police were merely following the law and enforcing it. This arrest even made it onto fucking CCTV, China's state owned news outlet. This means the state basically cosigned what they fucking did.

They are going after the least significant players in this entire fucking mess, and it's transparent as fuck. How about start from the top?

At $5 per mask, this cost adds up real quick for people who are required to go out daily... $35 a week, $140 a month... fuck that.

DO NOT USE CLEANING SPRAYS. If it is alcohol based it can work like a solvent do dissolve the materials in your mask. If you must reuse masks I'd go the UV light cleaning route.

Kazakh update: the corruption is spreading
7 more infected in Nur-Sultan, bringing the total to 44.
In other news, some retard who owns a cafe in Kokshetau got busted for trying to host a 100-man banquet during a State of Emergency. It's like some people are TRYING to spread Corona-Chan... Nurgle worshippers IRL, perhaps?
As for myself: we still good.

Here's what Li said.
Wechat group is called University of Wuhan 04 Hospital
"7 cases of SARS discovered at Huanan Fruit&Seafood market, they are being quarantined in our hospital"
He showed some kind of test report indicating that the infection is highly likely to be SARS. I've talked about how it was misdiagnosed as SARS... I don't know how many pages ago.
A short video of CT scanning of lungs was also shown.
18:42, he said "Coronavirus infection verified, we are trying to sequence it", "please don't spread this message, make friends and family aware and prevent it".
Then the messages were spread to other chat groups, and eventually to the public.

So spreading rumours? Not guilty. Especially when he told people to not spread it.

Put them out in the Sun, or place them under a UV lamp - the UV Lamp is the best. UV light kills virtually everything. It will degrade the plastic after a while even. If you cant get a UV lamp, use a Metal Halide Lamp which has PLENTY of UV light and is used by growers to supply weed with sufficient UV light for Bud creation. DO NOT USE LEDS as they contain virtually no UV light except the custom ones designed to produce UV light. The Sun's light is free - and DO NOT do this inside, most windows BLOCK UV light, the masks need to go out in the direct sunlight, both sides.

Speaking of Li, not sure if this has been posted here before, but this is the "Letter of Admonition" he had to sign - original and translation.

I've always maintained the belief that nothing ever fucking happens on a grand scale anymore because everyone is too much of a god damn pussy to start anything. USA, China, Russia, EU, South American, Iran, Israel, etc. Nobody wants to do fuck all because everyone is too distracted with money, fancy shit, intricate geopolitics and don't want to rock the boat too hard or else everyone drowns. Happened with Middle East post-2015, happened with Venezuela, happened with Hong Kong, happened with North Korea.

Maybe when the economy finally fucks itself, people start getting getting pissed, and when people get pissed, the government gets scared, and when governments get scared, motherfuckers start actually blasting each other.
This was always touted as one of the knock-on effects of global trade. If everyone was making money and had a vested interest in the system, they would stop fighting.

Unfortunately winners and losers emerged (who could have seen that coming) so the concept never really panned out.

What an excellent suggestion. I happen to have a short (UV C) and long wave (UV A) UV light for fluorescent minerals. UV C seems to be the best, as these rays from the Sun don't come through our atmosphere, thus rendering a susceptibility in microorganisms as they haven't had a multitude of years to build up an immunity to them. If you use UV C, keep it away from your skin and eyes.

This is the brand of UV lamp I have.

They also sell UV flashlights.

Here's a video detailing how places (like airplanes) are being disinfected with UV lamps.

Edit:

To be perfectly clear: UV C light doesn't "kill" viruses. It renders them ineffective by damaging their DNA and RNA so that they cannot replicate. In other words, it sterilizes them. inb4 Nazi jokes

Far-UV C light is different from regular UV C light in that it has a shorter wavelength and higher photon energy from UV C, making it more effective in penetrating through viruses and other microorganisms. Because of the extreme shortness of its wavelength, it cannot penetrate the outermost layer of the epidermis (stratum corneum), and therefore it can't cause cancer (I should add the proviso that it's EXTREMELY unlikely to cause cancer, because what can't give you cancer nowadays?).

You know it's ironic you should say that. I was watching Governor Cuomo's news conference the other day, and one of the journo fags asked a follow up question about if the media should be considered essential business. The Gov almost burst out laughing and said it would depend on who you ask. He did not provide an answer :lit:

I am 95% sure that this is cargo-cult level of safety advice.
