Vaush totally wasted a golden opportunity here, if he had done any preparation at all he could have actually had a debate with Ralph and come away looking like a reasonable person. You can say a lot of things about Ralph, but you can’t really say the man has well read and considered opinions, any sober person who has done any amount of reading outside Wikipedia could take our chunky white trash friend apart at the joints. For the most part Ralph usually relies on the force of his boisterous personality to get him through anything from personal disputes, ideological confrontations, to friendly interviews and shooting the shit with randos who call in; it should not have been difficult for Vaush to create a situation where Ralph couldn’t fall back on his charm.
Calling Ralph a Nazi was stupid right out the gate. Anti-Semitism and Nationalistic tendencies are not really sufficient conditions for being a Nazi. It is tantamount to calling every person in America with progressive politics Maoist partisans, a cheap rhetorical trick that should be avoided by anyone who has the pretense of being honest. The Nazi party was a particular expression of National Socialism conditioned by German history and culture that is confined to the first half of the 20th century, you ought not to treat it as some kind of umbrella term for people you don’t like.
Vaush had so many advantages going into this over Ralph, in large part because he isn’t a deathfat addict swimming in the emotional trauma of a divorce and an ailing parent. Steer the conversation towards immigration, give Ralph plenty of opportunity to say things that are either stupid and/or false, and then hammer away. No one expects erudition from Ralph and as long as you are not personally insulting him, then his response will largely be the equivalent of the “FAT GUY IN A LITTLE COAT” routine. The inbreds hosting DP will laugh, Ralph will laugh, the audience will laugh, and Vaush too could laugh at the absurdity that is the streaming grift.
Instead Vaush acted like a true cow from the finest stock and proved exactly why he deserves a thread here. Horse cocks right out the gate, admission to sexual harassment, not taking a stand against child pornography, you know, the usual talking points from an emotionally healthy adult. I man for fuck’s sake Ralph has gone from managing the circus that is internet bloodsports to being one of its attractions, sitting in a cage and banging on the bars with a tin plate for donations. The man has no threshold when it comes to debasing himself for an audience Vaush, why would you get into that kind of contest with him?
There really is only one answer: Vaush is as fucking stupid as Ralph.
