So one of my sister-in-laws has the flu. Doctors assured her it was the regular flu, but I don't know.

Dude, it was explicitly ruled by SCOTUS as wrong, but Lincoln gave no fucks. He did it anyway and in retrospect he made the right call. This is absolutely terra incognita. The world, let alone the US, has never faced a pandemic on this scale with such horrible prospects while the country that let it loose upon the world is directly threatening to withhold lifesaving medicines and parts necessary for ventilators. As of tonight, Manhattan has 3 million residents, about 500 confirmed bat flu patients, thousands verified infected and has effectively shut down. It is astounding.Just because those things occurred doesn't mean they are right. Just because Lincoln suspended the first amendment to arrest sympathizers in some cases simple critics, doesn't mean we should.
That poor family.....
So the oldest victim is presumably in her 70s. The 55 year old dying so quickly indicates either a compromised immune system or an underlying condition. With several siblings also dead already, I can only guess from the picture that diabetes may run in the family, ethnic italian so perhaps a history of smoking as well? OR just a REALLY bad bit of luck in regards to the family's immune system.
And when this draconian measure is used to stomp out free speech of actual critics who point out the governments fuck ups in this situation, will it still be justified? Worth it?Dude, it was explicitly ruled by SCOTUS as wrong, but Lincoln gave no fucks. He did it anyway and in retrospect he made the right call. This is absolutely terra incognita. Sometimes you have to bend the rules. I think this is one of those rare situations that justifies it.
The Chinese desire to eat bats stems from them having a lot of money. They eat delicacies to improve their sex lives.

People may think you jest, but you're on the nose with that one.
Jenny Durkan, the dumb fuckin bint in charge of Seattle, spent the first chunk of her speech talking about injecting money into the arts community to make Seattle nice when this is all over.
Wish I could find the clip again, but yeah. Washington is a goddamn circus and the rodeo clowns run the show.

Ahh Finland....how it's more important to have a vagina than be capable to be a PM.
We ought to ask any remaining nazis how they burned up all those jews so fast, they must've had some great techniques. Can't speculate. I think that you are being optimistic. Maybe there is a hereditary suseptability problem, that epidemiologists are researching ... comparative studies ... data is being processed?
But this is all new.
At this point, I am begin to get concerned about the mortuary, crematory, burial, cemetery, forensic pathology, bodies in freezers ... dimension.
Like cremation is more time consuming and expensive and bulky, than we realize.
I'm not talking about how we feel about China. I'm talking about actual official reasoning that would land someone aiding them in violation of the espionage act. Obviously China is a shitshow and is entirely responsible for this shit. But you are absolutely not going to get someone prosecuted for treason for arguing the opposite.
You don't think that China is being hostile when they are spreading the false information on the world stage that the United States is responsible for this? Really?
Also ... "Nuking Freedom of Speech." Dude. So it's just okay for the press to cover for Commie China by crying "muh racism" just because the Orange Man is Bad? You think it's okay for the press to call everyone who was concerned about COVID-19 months ago "waaaacist" only to put the entire nation on shit-spewing panic mode this past week? You think it's okay that the media distracted the American people from paying attention to this for months just to have them focus on a bullshit impeachment instead?
I'm not saying to silence the press, mind you, but I am saying that their shit needs to be called out big time and that there should be some backlash and consequences for the shit that they continue to pull. Freedom of Speech does not entail any right or entitlement to their credibility.
And it's about damn time that our businesses and corporations tell China to fuck off. It's time to stop China's economic influence around the world. I'm not saying we need to go to war, but I am saying that it's about damn time to kick them in the coin purses. Hard.
That will not work, you need to round them up and shot them. they are all traitors sucking chinese dick.I'm not saying to silence the press, mind you, but I am saying that their shit needs to be called out big time and that there should be some backlash and consequences for the shit that they continue to pull. Freedom of Speech does not entail any right or entitlement to their credibility.
well Bayer is not just big pharma, they also make other stuff. some of it would be very usefull to use it against chinks. Can we save this for the next time Bernie spergs about Big Pharma?
Outside China:
161554 confirmed / 6629 dead / 14427 recovered
134819 / 5508 / 13558 yesterday
Iran:
18407 confirmed / 1284 dead / 5710 recovered
17361 / 1135 / 5389 yesterday
USA:
13678 confirmed / 200 dead / 108 recovered
7786 / 118 / 106 yesterday
I'm not saying it wouldn't happen, it definitely would happen. It's a risky gamble that I doubt Trump will take, but if things spiral out of control and you have mass graves, people dying in the streets and the country is going to be wrecked then he'd do it and whatever it takes to get the US going again. And when this draconian measure is used to stomp out free speech of actual critics who point out the governments fuck ups in this situation, will it still be justified? Worth it?
Holy shit some of these possible side effects are horrifying.

"Don't shout fire in a crowded theater," escalates pretty quickly to, "You're continued interference is detrimental to our efforts, you're a threat and will be detained,"Besides, there's no right to coof on people in Constitution.
