Members of Congress are essentially exempt from regular insider trading laws, even after the STOCK Act passed. You have to prove they acted on non-public information and the law is setup in such a way where this can be borderline impossible without some kind of recording or similar.
Also the "if true" part is stupid because there's literally nothing further to the story fact-wise, the news about the trades came from the Senator's disclosure forms. I thought Brianna was a long time famous investigative crime journalist.

The fact they were actually telling members of the public the information in question works against that. In reality they can't be prosecuted for it.
Now, the political fallout may be fatal to their careers because it is obviously shitty behavior, but they're not going to prison without doing something dumb like talking to the FBI and either lying or "lying," i.e. talking to the FBI.

Holy fuck, should have watched Wu's online "town hall" earlier. It's the usual prattling, but at the end we learn FRANK LOST HIS JOB! I posted earlier about how Wave life sciences was in trouble and it's stock price nose dived, and I guess they're pretty much going out of business. Frank is getting on in years and may not find it easy to get a new job, certainly at the level of his previous position.

Frank losing his job must be a nightmare for BriBri. Not only has she lost the bottomless wallet that has enabled her three Porches and other decadent lifestyle choices, he's also going to be at home all day to observe first hand just how "busy" congresswuman Brianna is.
Frank should keep a wary eye on any new life insurance policies that might be taken out in his name.
