I've always thought Destiny was an extremely disingenuous debater. He basically shotguns dozens of arguments at you "backed" by flimsy evidence "This point i'm making is correct, here's a study that proofs it *references to some obscure paper written by some no-name hack studying or working at a college/uni somewhere* then while you're trying to disprove this he'll just circle around you needling with comments and other flimsy arguments until you lose your patience with him.

He basically just tries to overload you with "facts"while giving you no chance to disprove his facts cause he just keeps spewing more verbal vomit over you to keep you from trying. People thought Metokur didn't do well against Destiny, but I disagree. Metokur just clung to an argument and would push it autistically forcing Destiny to awnser. It might come across as obtuse but if you debate in good faith Destiny always wins, Metokur just forcing Destiny to straight up awnser specific questions works best cause it exposes how weak his stances are.

Destiny didn't really take a side on the issue, just trolled Stryker and asked him to prove it. This really triggered Stryker and he began chimping out, which made him look like the unreasonable one. (This is a great tactic of propaganda, Consider all the cries of orange-man bad everytime Trump so much as sneezes and how insane it makes his opponents look.) Destiny put forward the assertion that classic composers made 'simple' music which one could easily get an ear for, but compared to modern music, it is something that could be considered lackluster by comparison. As an example (Which wasn't given, thus is just conjecture on my part regarding D's arguments.) consider that a composer now has access to digital editing and all the possibilities that are opened in regards to creating more complex music that one would take a while to get an ear for. (Audio clips, distorted instruments, auto-tune, ect.)

Stryker just straight-up started pilling the spaghetti on the table with that entire music discussion.

Imo Stryker came to spread propaganda (and probably Destiny too), but completely fucked up by acting like a sperg. If I shut my eyes and block my ears, I can at least pretend that destiny was arguing in good faith, that's just not so with Stryker.

Destiny is incapable of trolling. He was not trolling, that is why he argued so aggressively. And it fits completely into his larger point about artistic value being relative and everything that is current is automatically more evolved. This is what all progressives believe; that what we are doing now is superior to the past, and everything old has less value than anything we can do in the future. He has echoed this many times but this whole thing started with Destiny mentioning art IN GENERAL and music was just an example. And of course, the comparison between Beethoven and Taylor Swift proves he is incorrect but that's why he is a relativist in value.

Also Destiny is objectively wrong about the popularity of classical music, if you check the numbers classical music/album sales have always been pretty impressive and steady over the decades. To make the argument that we don't have much of an ear for it in modern times is insane and wrong, and your example of us having sampling and any asshole can do it kinda proves the point.

The argument that should have been made is this: we stand on the shoulders of giants, and there are people like Destiny who believe everything that sits upon a giant's shoulder is another giant. A good example would be Oasis, who are proudly and loudly influenced by the Beatles. They are a fine band, but they are not as good as the Beatles even though they had access to more advanced audio equipment and software and electronic shit. Destiny cannot comprehend how much modern art is influenced by traditional art, and that 95% of modern art sucks. If anyone wants to say the Impressionists are inferior to the horse shit you'll see if you walk into any modern art museum they can shut the fuck up out of my office.

Destiny had to fight so hard against this - even though it was one example - because if we admit certain things in the past are superior to what we are capable of today that blows quite literally the entire progressive stance wide open. Change is inevitable, but he is more of the school that all change is good. But you can also evolve in ridiculous and ultimately dead-end directions.

Destiny's entire argumentative strategy isn't that advanced and even the gish gallop shit isn't the most egregious part. See when he asks leading questions he isn't trying to troll or fuck with people, he's trying to trap them into an "I don't know." Because for Destiny, everything he says is the truth, and any truth proposed against it is unknowable. Everything his opponent says is complicated and unknowable (he did this with Enoch) and everything he says is so obvious and natural. This becomes most apparent when he demands people cite sources, and when they do, he rejects their sources outright. So to debate Destiny it's not even really about facts, and Enoch was pretty good at constantly demanding that Destiny re-state his actual point instead of being a termite in everyone else's. Forcing him to do that breaks him down very quickly because his whole game is to be a pied piper into a trivial semantic shitpile.

Also one reminder that Destiny let it slip that Limp Bizkit was for people wanting to "virtue signal" just like his hated philharmonic attendees do.
