Australian Government has closed down all bars, restaurants, gyms. New South Wales, Victoria, ACT are shutting down all non-essential services. Restrictions on public gatherings, meaning sports teams have been playing to empty stadiums. National borders closed, some states have also closed borders.

The Australian Government introduced a stimuli package.

401Ks/Super can now be withdrawn from up to $10,000
Interest rates going as low as 0%
All Unemployment benefits will be doubled.
$750 cash to most Government benefit recipients.
Guaranteed Unsecured small business loans.

Going outside on a monday, it's like Christmas morning, most everyone seems to be home, a few people out walking the dog or jogging, few cars and trucks on the road. Going to the supermarket a security guard stands and allows elderly first dibs on all items until an hour after the store is opened. There are a handful of boomer idiots that look like they are stocking for an apocalypse, no serious supply shortages now that supermarkets have mandated 1-2 respective items per customer. Everyone is catching up on Netflix and banging their significant other I suppose.

Personally I doubt it. I've lived in Wisconsin and bars are huge. Considering they didn't shut them down until a few days ago, there's a pretty decent timeframe for the virus to spread. If this was January may be a different story, but it's already above freezing, so that's good weather
The weather is still shit and I agree with you about the bars but I did notice the last few days of the bars being open there were less people in them.

"A senior Democratic aide said other major problems include:

  • No money for state and local governments
  • No additional Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) funds, also referred to as food stamps
  • No Occupational Safety and Health Administration language to protect workers
  • No expanded emergency leave provisions
  • Only three months on unemployment insurance -- Democrats say it's an insufficient length given the scope of the crisis
  • No money to help with the treatment of the uninsured
  • Does not provide adequate relief for the 44 million federal student loan borrowers
  • Language says corporations must keep employees "to the extent possible" which means they can keep bailout money and still fire workers"
Just to go through each one:

1. If you're gonna make the states do everything then they need help too.
2. I'd only agree with this if it specifically targeted people that lost their jobs in the past 60 days. Beyond that fuck those dindu nuffins
3. There are still a ton of employers that are doing the 'it's just a flu bro' routine.
4. If this is a long term thing then it's something that needs to be dealt with but it could have been looked at later.
5. I mean, everyone lost their jobs so this is something that has to be dealt with.
6. I'll look into this more, but hasn't this happened before?

7. All of those things stick around even after the emergency because if Trump tries to roll any of it back people will REEEE about Cutting Welfare programs and state funding.

Wtf Chuck? Did he forget the United States Government has a bicameral legislature, and that the House will be putting forward their own bill and/or changes? This was needless obstructionism that will slow down the process even more!

The GOP controlled Senate didn't like the House bill, but voted for it anyway because while it was far from perfect, it was a good start to get money and assistance moving. By blocking it, the blame is now on the Dems for holding shit up, and they're now less likely to get changes they want.

The Trump curse is definitely real and has a dementia component to it.

you fucking idiots, when has the Dems ever been held accountable by anyone? either you're low information and hate the gop, or you aren't and hate the dems (that doesn't mean you hump the gop either necessarily)

regardless of what happens, once September rolls around our Null's favorite religion-run media will by blaming trump for all of it

You're right, they haven't been. But Chuck was never this stupid in the past. He was good on Sandy aid. Hell, if it wasn't for him, we would have been long dead by the time Barry O had us filling out forms in triplicate and "studying" how to give rebuilding money.

Lol. "Romney is an isolation?

"yes"

"Geeee, thats too bad"

"...is that sarcasm mister president?"

"No...no..."
Yeah that made me laugh too, Haaaa - hahaha When you think about it, Romney has been the only republican voting for Trump to be impeached ! Now, That's some Immanent Justice ! :story:

They have no reason to

They have no reason to do the right or intelligent thing. They want a recession, they want the economy to fail for they can pin it on Trump.

They would let the nation burn so long as it allows them to retake the presidency.

If things couldn't be more hilarious, Pelosi is now going to introduce her version of the bill to the House, where it will probably be rejected by the GOP and Trump.

absolute fucking state of the US Government
I can already see the poison pill along the lines of "money for all Americans, including undocumented immigrants" for that to happen.
At least there is a silver lining to the fact Rand Paul just ensured everyone in Congress will get Corona, so there is that.

"Trump didn't do enough during the Coronavirus"

"Trump didn't do enough before the Coronavirus"

"Trump still isn't doing enough after Coronavirus"

"What do you mean we have a House of Representatives? It's all Trump!"

This is why I laughed when I heard people saying that this crisis will bring Americans together. All I see are the knifes coming out as the Government stabs itself to death.

Why are you making this out to be some sort of media conspiracy? Dr. Fauci flat out said there is no proof it works at the coronavirus press conferences. You seem like the type to post on r/theDonald.

No, he said there was no clinical trials been done. Only anecdotal evidence. Those are two very different standards of proof, but not the same as "no proof."

When you see something has anecdotal evidence that it works, but there's no clinical trials, that means there's probably clinical trials in the works, because it appears that it helps.

I.e., there's a chance that it does. I.e., they're hopeful.

So why are both sides against any bailout right now? Is it because of Trump and don’t say the banks get bailouts that not what I mean.

Part of it is the "Trump isn't MY president so he's not allowed to do president things" effect. TDS, basically.

The other part of it is pork. The bailout is having pork attached to it. Or not enough pork attached to it. Or you'll see shitheads like AOC wanting to use this as a way to shove Marxism into the US, or people who see it as such and want to prevent it.

Fuck Democrats
Fuck Republicans
And fuck every politician in the senate
Dude, every Republican voted yes on except the 5 that are in Isolation and even then they need 60 votes so Democrats need to come across the aisle and help. This is purely the Democrats being bat-eating stupid because they want the gibs to be permanent.

Ding ding ding.

This is what they're counting on. Remember the 5demands thing from a few pages back that the DSA, Antifa, and other Communist groups in the US are pushing?

If you think any of these would EVER be repealed if AOC and her fuckstick Commie Goblins could get them pushed through, well, you have another thing coming.

I'd just like to quote the very first post I made in this thread, on page 3, all of TWO FUCKING MONTHS AGO

The timing of this is so perfect that I almost want to give the glow in the darks credit. But this is going way too well to be their doing.

Looks like this thing is gonna spread everywhere thanks to chinky new year.

I look forward to quoting this post in 2 months time, at pg 3k
