Ever read Suskind’s “Perfume,” which is about a serial murderer of pubescent girls who is killing them because he is obsessed with distilling their scent, which he believes would bring him great power...which of course indicates that he thinks there’s something powerful about 13-yo girls that he can extract, apply to his own body, and use that power himself. Premise is that he was born with an almost supernatural sense of smell, but that he himself is devoid of any scent of his own, which he perceives as a source of his suffering. Anyway any time I see yet another story about them stealing their mom/sister/daughter’s dirty underwear to apply their “discharge” to themselves, or their attempts to enfleurage and consume “transformative female essence” by making tampon tea or anything that escalates from that, I always think of Grenouille.

I have read that book three times. I never made that connection though. It makes troons seem even more deranged because Grenouille was a sick psychopath. This also makes their whole ideology even more fantastic without any basis in reality than it already is. The more you learn about transgenderism, the more you become aware that the whole concept is the thought-child of a deranged group of mentally ill people and not a valid theory. No one who has even a shred of sanity should believe that shit or humor those who perpetrate it.

Edit: The fantastic element in troonery is kind of like the fantastic element in Süßkind's book. Troons all believe that if only they have enough "female essence" people will love them. In a way, their narcissism is like Grenouille's narcissism.
