He made too much to qualify.

Holy shit it dawned on me just now, you're absolutely right, he's even above the phase out level of income too so not even a reduced check. Khet probably would qualify if she files individually though so we'll see if tax guy screws her over despite doing hers for free this year supposedly.

Can any Animal Crossing fans tell me which playthrough is better, Phil's or Christian Weston Chandler's from the 2000s?

the way dsp worded it, you'd think she was self employed

I bet his tax guy is just doing her tax return to see if she's owed a refund

she's just as dumb as phil

This is more likely than some might believe, when the 'individual mandate penalty' for not having health insurance in the Affordable Care Act era was recinded a few years ago I heard about a lot of local filers using tax prep firms that were mysteriously still paying the fine for no coverage despite it not being law anymore, guess who got that money instead of the government or the filers who were told they still owed it?

What’s with Phil saying he eats out on his day off to “support local businesses”? This seems like a relatively new excuse. He’s also using door dash to have food delievered to his house on his day off, even though he’s supposedly out all day grocery shopping. Why not just order take-out on the way home? Or better yet, prepare a meal using the groceries you just bought. This is just so weird to me.

Didn't Phil say he planned to delay filing the 2019 taxes because of the 3-month amnesty?

Katherine did not work in 2018 according Phil's bankruptcy filing, so the IRS will look at her (lack of a) 2018 return and she won't get Trumpbux either.

You underestimate how hard Phil will try to justify wasting money and generally being lazy. Before the coronavirus outbreak he was unironically claiming that eating out cost just as much as a home cooked meal.

You haven't heard? Everyone knows Phil is such a kind and thoughtful person. He goes out of his way to support local businesses like Kroger and Wendy's despite the fact his own business makes $-35 a month and he has to file for bankruptcy. He just loves his community that much.

Either that or he is fat and lazy and prefers to eat fast food instead of slap together a sandwich.

After all, if you think about it (not too much, just a little bit), there's no such thing as a ‘non-local business’, apart from that Renton Taco Bell staffed exclusively by Martian holograms, but Phil only goes to that one once in a while.

I've heard they'll look at 2019 then, when she supposedly has worked. I've also heard contrasting rumors on if SSI NEETbux losers like myself are getting $600 or nothing. So, we'll see.

I would love to see Dave playing Insurgency: Sandstorm and shitting on it "because it's not realistic".

If she filed taxes in 2018, that's what they use. If not, they see if 2019 has been filed yet. If not, she won't get anything, most likely. If she filed in 2018, she's almost certainly getting the $1200. One of the changes made was to remove the bottom, so if you made less than $75000 (per individual, or $150,000 as a couple), you get the $1200.

I believe it was 2400 as a couple (if less than 150 grand) with an additional 500 per child.

Correct. It's $1200 per individual, and they determine eligibility based on the income cutoff by whether you filed as an individual or couple. And then yes, $500 for each child you have as well. So a standard family of 4 that filed jointly and meets income requirements to get the max would get $3400.
